Palo Alto Networks PAN-SFP-PLUS-SR Compatible 10GBASE-SR SFP+ Transceiver Module (MMF, 850nm, 300m, LC, DOM)
Connect a PA-Series firewall to core switching over multimode fiber without paying OEM prices. This PAN-SFP-PLUS-SR compatible SFP+ transceiver carries 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-SW traffic at 850nm through an LC duplex interface, reaching 300 meters on OM3, 400 meters on OM4, and 82 meters on older OM2. A firewall usually sits in the same data hall or rack row as the switching it protects, so that reach covers the link with room to spare.
Built-in Digital Optical Monitoring reports temperature, voltage, and optical power in real time, so a dirty connector or fading transmitter shows up before it drops a link carrying production traffic. The module meets the SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and IEEE 802.3ae standards for clean interoperation with whatever optic sits at the far end.
Every unit is programmed with Palo Alto EEPROM coding and tested in Palo Alto 10G firewall interfaces before it ships, so the port recognizes it exactly as it would the OEM PAN-SFP-PLUS-SR. Typical uses are firewall-to-core links, data center perimeter connections, and short in-building runs.
