3m (10ft) Dell 332-1368 Compatible 10G SFP+ Passive Direct Attach Copper Twinax Cable
- Dell 332-1368 Compatible 10G SFP+ 3m Passive Direct Attach Copper Twinax Cable
- This direct attach copper cable, also known as a twinax or DAC cable, is a lower-cost replacement for the Dell 332-1368. It carries data rates up to 10.5 Gbps, meeting the bandwidth requirements for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GBASE-CU), 8G Fibre Channel and 10G Fibre Channel over Ethernet.
- The cable is built for short reach links in high-speed interconnects: high-performance computing, top of rack switching, and network storage. It fully complies with the SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement standards SFF-8431, SFF-8432 and SFF-8472. Each cable is made from high-grade components and tested to meet or exceed industry specifications, giving hardware builders and data centre operators high port density at low cost and reduced power draw.
- Being passive, it needs no power beyond the host port and adds almost no latency, so it costs less and runs cooler than an SFP+ optical transceiver pair or an active optical cable. At 3 metres it reaches between adjacent racks or across a taller cabinet, where a 1 metre cable would fall short.
- Every cable is programmed to work with a wide range of Dell 10G switches, routers, network cards and storage systems, so the port recognises it at plug-in with no extra configuration.
- Features
- Lower cost than an SFP+ optical transceiver or active optical cable (AOC)
- Supports multi-gigabit data rates up to 10.5 Gbps
- Supports 1x, 2x, 4x and 8x Fibre Channel data rates
- Hot-pluggable SFP 2
