The Dell DAC-QSFP28-100G-3M compatible 100G QSFP28 passive Direct Attach Copper cable gives you a complete 100 Gigabit Ethernet link in one ready to use 3 meter assembly. Both QSFP28 ends come factory terminated onto the Twinax copper, so there are no optics to source and nothing to align or clean during install.
With no active electronics in the signal path, a passive DAC draws next to no power and adds virtually no latency compared with an optical link. That combination is why it remains the standard for short 100G runs: leaf to spine switch connections, top-of-rack switch to server, and high-speed storage uplinks. At 3 meters this is the longest of the common passive lengths, enough to span rack to rack or run through overhead cable management while still avoiding the cost of optics and fiber. A 100 impedance build holds the signal clean at 100Gbps, and the cable is hot swappable so links can be changed without taking equipment offline.
The assembly runs from 0°C to 70°C, stores from -40°C to 85°C, and meets MSA, SFF-8665 and RoHS requirements. Every cable is programmed and tested on Dell equipment before shipping.
