This Mellanox MCP2M00-A01A compatible 10G SFP+ passive Direct Attach Copper cable is a factory terminated 1 meter link for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. The SFP+ connectors are fixed to the Twinax copper at both ends, so there are no transceivers to buy separately and no fiber ends to clean or align.
Passive DAC uses almost no power and adds almost no latency, which makes it the default choice for in-rack 10G connections: top-of-rack switch to server, switch stacking, storage uplinks, and SAN links. At 1 meter it is sized for equipment mounted a few rack units apart, keeping runs short and cable clutter down. The cable is plug and play, hot swappable, and built to 100 impedance to hold signal integrity at 10Gbps.
Operating range is 0°C to 70°C with storage from -40°C to 85°C, and the cable meets MSA, SFF-8431 and RoHS requirements. Each unit is programmed and tested on Mellanox equipment before it ships.
