This Mellanox MC2207130-001 compatible 40G QSFP+ passive Direct Attach Copper cable is a factory terminated 1 meter link for 40 Gigabit Ethernet. The QSFP+ connectors are fixed to the Twinax copper at both ends, so there are no transceivers to buy separately and no fiber ends to clean or align.
Passive DAC uses almost no power and adds almost no latency, which makes it the default choice for in-rack 40G connections: top-of-rack switch to server, switch stacking, and high-speed storage uplinks. At 1 meter it is sized for equipment mounted close together in the same rack, keeping runs short and cable clutter down. The cable is plug and play, hot swappable, and built to 100 impedance to hold signal integrity at 40Gbps.
Operating range is 0°C to 70°C with storage from -40°C to 85°C, and the cable meets MSA, SFF-8436 and RoHS requirements. Each unit is programmed and tested on Mellanox equipment before it ships.
