My laptop has a regular USB-C port. Will I get the full 20Gbps?
Only if the port is marked USB 3.2 Gen2x2 (20Gbps) — check your laptop specs. On a normal USB-C 3.2 port it still works, at 10Gbps (~1,000 MB/s).
Why do I only get ~1,000 MB/s when the listing says 80Gbps?
Speed follows your port: 80Gbps on Thunderbolt 5/USB4 v2, 20Gbps on a Gen2x2 port, 10Gbps elsewhere. Note that on Thunderbolt 4/USB4 ports, USB devices run at 10Gbps because one lane is reserved for video.
Which Macs are supported?
All Macs with Thunderbolt 3/4/5 or USB4 ports, on macOS 12+ (Thunderbolt 3 requires macOS 15.2+).
Do I need a special cable?
Use the included 80Gbps cable for full speed — a USB-A or charge-only cable drops the USB link to 10Gbps or 5Gbps.
Do I need to install a driver?
No, it's plug and play on Windows, macOS and Linux. Just format the SSD on first use.
