1. The AD9833 is a low-power, programmable sine waveform generator required for generating waveforms in all types of waveform detection, realisation, and time domain reflectometer (TDR) applications.
2. The output frequency and phase are software programmable and can be easily adjusted. No external components are required. The frequency register is 28 bits wide: clocked at 25 MHz for 0.1 Hz resolution; the AD9833 is clocked at 1 MHz with resolution tunable to 0.004 Hz.
3. Write through the serial interface line. The serial interface operates at clock frequencies up to 40 MHz and is compatible with DSP and microcontroller standards. The device is powered by a 2.3V 5.5V supply.
4. Has a power-down function (SLEEP). This allows unused parts of the device to be switched off, thus minimising the power consumption, for example, switching off the DAC when generating the output clock.
5. The standard serial interface allows the device to be connected directly to different microprocessors. The device uses an external serial clock to write data or information to the control device.
