It delivers excellent image quality, supports decoding and output of 4Kp60 HDR10+, incorporates the new AV1 video codec, and provides solid overall performance. The media player handles both 4Kp60 HDR10+ video decoding and 4Kp60 HDR10+ video output. It can downscale 4K content to any resolution and upscale any content to 4K resolution. YouTube 4K HDR is supported. The media player supports the new AV1 video codec, which can enhance video quality by up to 50% without increasing the video bit rate (or require up to 50% less bit rate for the same video quality). This new video codec is already utilized by YouTube and will become increasingly important for compatibility with various video services and content sources. The media player can decode all audio formats (up to Dolby TrueHD Atmos and DTS:X) in multi-channel PCM (up to 7.1 channels). It can output bitstream passthrough for DD/DTS audio formats (5.1 channels). The media player can automatically adjust the frame rate and resolution of the output to match the content being played. This aids in ensuring perfectly smooth video playback and in selecting the optimal method for upscaling the video resolution (upscaling by the media player or by the TV). You can play music in a wide range of advanced formats, including multi-channel FLAC, WavPack, APE, ALAC, and even multi-channel Super Audio CD (SACD). Multi-channel DSD files can be output as multi-channel PCM to HDMI. Stereo DSD files can be output as stereo PCM via HDMI and S/PDIF.
