Pro-Line Pro-Trace HS-CCS PE45 High Strength Copper Clad Steel Tracer Wire - 12 AWG: 500 ft. (Blue)

Pro-Trace HS-CCS PE45 is a 12 AWG high strength copper clad steel tracer wire used to locate buried non-metallic utility lines. The solid conductor combines an AISI 1055 high carbon steel core with metallurgically bonded UNS C10200 copper cladding for a 452 lb break strength, roughly 227 percent of the break load of solid copper.

Because the two metals are bonded rather than layered, the conductor resists separation and corrosion in service. The wire also carries little scrap value, so it is a poor target for theft, and at 26.0 lbs per 1,000 feet it weighs less than a comparable run of solid copper.

The conductor is jacketed in 45 mil high-density, high molecular weight polyethylene rated 600V for direct burial. The heavier wall adds protection against abrasion, crushing, impact, moisture, oil, and chemicals.

Recommended installations: open-trench and open-cut, plow-in, and light directional boring.
