The KONA LHe Plus supports 10-bit or 8-bit uncompressed video and features one input and two outputs, which can be independently configured for HD or SD.

It also includes 2-channel AES digital audio, 8-channel SDI embedded digital audio, analog composite/S-video/SD/HD component video I/O, 2-channel balanced analog audio I/O, and a Genlock input. Additionally, it comes with three BNCs that can be configured for analog video input and output (HD or SD). This versatile I/O solution supports macOS, Windows, and Linux, offering cost-effective and simple connectivity for a range of workflows. It also supports 12-bit analog component HD input and output, allowing devices with analog HD output, such as analog VTRs and game consoles, to be connected for various workflows.

The KONA LHe Plus features a 9-pin RS-422 connection, available on either the included breakout cable or the optional KL-Box-LH breakout box. This allows the KONA LHe Plus to control external devices for frame-accurate ingest and layoffs. It also includes full 10-bit, broadcast-quality, motion-adaptive HD to SD down-conversion, and HD/SD 12-bit component analog output. This hardware-based conversion is available at all times, during ingest or playback. The KONA LHe Plus is supported by an extensive list of professional software for editing, visual effects, graphics, and more. AJA also provides several free applications that enable you to utilize the power of your AJA hardware without having to run a particular software package.

Extend your connectivity with the optional KL-Box-LH breakout box. This box allows you to easily integrate the KONA LHe Plus into rack environments and provides quick access to all video and audio connections. It includes BNC digital AES/EBU connectors and RCA audio monitoring jacks. The KL-Box attaches to the KONA LHe Plus card via supplied cables and offers two-channel unbalanced audio output (2 RCA Jacks) not available with the standard cable. The KONA LHe Plus also features BNC connectors, which ensure a positive connection by locking the connectors together. This prevents the cable from accidentally being pulled out, providing a reliable and secure connection for your video equipment.
