The Core 59s 5" midrange driver delivers incredible detail. It uses Dynaudios proprietary MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) cone material for the best combination of lightness, stiffness, and damping. Coupled with an aluminum voice coil, the MSP cone allows incredibly quick response and authoritative control from its neodymium magnet system. Core 59s low-frequency driver is the result of over 18 months of intensive R&D into subwoofer technology, including Dynaudios own 18S sub, which extends bass all the way down to 16Hz. The outcome of that painstaking research is a new copper voice coil and glass-fiber former, pushed by ceramic magnets and a 500-watt Class D Pascal amplifier. It gives the 9.5" long-excursion woofer even more grip on the bottom without sacrificing a deep frequency response.
The Orbit baffle
Dynaudio revolutionized speaker positioning with their AIR series, making it possible to use a 3-way speaker in multiple orientations without compromising the midrange driver and tweeters phase response by using sealed midrange/tweeter assemblies that can be rotated in the cabinet. Core 59s Orbit baffle rotates, so you can use it in left-, right-, or center-channel orientation. You can even position the monitor with the woofer above the midrange/tweeter assembly to accommodate placement in an LCR array in front of a console.
Flexible positioning
To account for placement in a variety of environments on their sides, vertically, or perhaps even inverted Dynaudio gave the Core 59 cabinet indentations on all four sides to accommodate special Dynaudio pads that protect the cabinets finish and stabilize the speaker on the mounting surface. Core 59 is also compatible with standard VESA mounting brackets or Dynaudios custom K&M bracket should you wish to mount them on a wall or ceiling as part of a multichannel or immersive-format monitor system such as Dolby ATMOS.
