Question 1

Can this be upgraded to Windows 8?

Accepted Answer

Dear fellow Newegg customer. The software on this laptop can be upgraded to Windows 8 but it probably doesn't make sense to do it. That's because the display is not a touch screen.

In my mind, there is about a $200 premium to buy a Windows 8 laptop due to the more expensive display. So I'd prefer to put that money into a better processor and more memory and simply use Windows 7. Windows 7 is a fantastic operating system. I believe Windows 8 makes more sense for a Tablet or phone...but not something that has keys and touch pad.

Hope this helps.
