Does this laptopnhas a backlit keyboard?

No, I don't recall seeing any back light. Also, do take note of where the shift key is located on ideapads. They put it in an insufferable location. Extremely confusing after decades of typing on a standard keyboard. No idea why they changed that, but I won't buy any more ideapads for my firm. I moved to other Thinkpads.

Is the memory a one stick 8 gig or two 4 gig sticks?

It is (2) 4gb sticks. 1 in the bottom and the other is under the keyboard I believe.

can I remove the battery and replace it?

Looking at the last picture it does not have a removable/replaceable battery.
