Targus SafePort Rugged Max Case iPad Air 11 and 10.9-inch THD966GL

The Targus SafePort Rugged Max (THD966GL) is a protective case for select 11-inch and 10.9-inch iPad Air models, suited to students, field workers, and other users who want drop-tested protection, a built-in screen protector, and an adjustable hand strap.

Recommended For

• Field and mobile workers who carry or use a compatible iPad while standing or walking: the adjustable hand strap is designed for a more secure one-handed grip, and the rugged build is tested for drops up to 6 ft.
• Classrooms and shared-device programs where tablets change hands: the hand strap supports handheld use, the case is tested for compatibility with a range of cleaners and disinfectants, and the clear back can leave asset tags visible.
• People who regularly view content or reference instructions hands-free in landscape orientation: the built-in kickstand supports adjustable viewing angles without removing the case.
• Users working in dusty or spill-prone settings who need a case that is easier to wipe down: Targus describes covered buttons, non-porous materials, and testing for contamination by fluids.

Real-World Use Scenarios

• In a classroom or shared-device program, staff can wipe the case with compatible cleaners between users; its fluid-contamination testing and non-porous materials are intended to make routine cleaning easier.
• On a job site or during field work, a user can carry and operate the iPad while standing or walking with the adjustable hand strap; the strap helps keep the tablet in hand, while the rugged case is designed for accidental drops.
• At a desk, counter, or classroom table, users can set the iPad up for hands-free landscape viewing to follow instructions, watch a lesson, or join a video call without holding the tablet.
• When taking notes or marking up documents on the move, users can keep a compatible Apple Pencil or stylus in the case’s holder, making it easier to keep the writing tool with the iPad between tasks.
• During travel or everyday handling, the covered screen and reinforced corners are designed to help protect the iPad from scratches and accidental impacts, while the clear back keeps the device’s color or an asset tag visible.
