Overview The Modbus RTU IO 8CH is an industrial RS485 Modbus RTU digital input output module designed for reliable remote IO control in automation systems. It provides 8DI + 8DO on a wired RS485 bus, allowing a PLC, industrial PC, or gateway to read digital inputs and control digital outputs using standard Modbus RTU commands. For input flexibility, the module supports passive and active digital inputs (NPN/PNP) with bi-directional optocoupler isolation and a built-in debouncing algorithm, helping reduce noise and false triggers in industrial environments. Outputs use Darlington open-drain architecture with optocoupler isolation and provide up to 500mA sinking current per channel, with flyback diode protection to better handle inductive loads such as relay coils.

Power is easy to integrate with a wide DC 736V input range. The device address is configurable from 1 to 255, enabling multiple modules to be cascaded on the same RS485 network. For durability and safety, the design includes power isolation, optocoupler isolation, TVS transient suppression, and a resettable fuse to help protect against surges and wiring issues. The enclosure supports 35mm DIN rail mounting and stacking installation for clean cabinet layout. Multiple onboard LEDs indicate input/output status and communication/MCU status for easier commissioning and troubleshooting.
