Overview The Modbus PoE ETH IO 8CH is an industrial Ethernet digital input/output module that combines 8DI + 8DO with robust isolation and protection for control cabinets and automation projects. It supports both Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU protocols over wired Ethernet, allowing a PLC, industrial PC, or gateway to read digital inputs and control digital outputs using standard Modbus commands. For simplified deployment, the module supports IEEE 802.3 af PoE, delivering power and network through one Ethernet cable, and it also supports DC 736V wide-range power input via DC port/screw terminal for non-PoE environments.
Digital inputs support passive and active (NPN/PNP) wiring with bi-directional optocoupler isolation and built-in debouncing, helping reduce noise and false triggering. Digital outputs adopt Darlington open-drain architecture with optocoupler isolation, providing up to 500mA sinking current per channel and flyback diode protection to better handle inductive loads. The module also supports output timing features (flash-on/flash-off) to turn outputs on for a set duration and then automatically off. Two Ethernet ports enable Ethernet cascade and flexible networking.
