The Zyxel XS1935-12F is a 10-port 10G Multi-Gigabit Lite-L3 Smart Managed Fiber Switch built as a backbone aggregation layer for SMB networks serving 100 to 200 users. It is the right choice when multiple access switches need to be linked over a high-bandwidth fiber backbone without enterprise-tier hardware costs. Ten SFP+ ports accept optional transceivers covering short-reach 850 nm at 0.3 km/328 yd, long-reach 1310 nm at 10 km/10, 936 yd, and extended 1550 nm at 80 km/87, 488 yd. Two Multi-Gigabit RJ-45 ports handle copper connections from 100M to 10G. Total switching capacity is 240 Gbps at 178.5 Mpps.
In a typical deployment, the XS1935-12F sits at the aggregation layer above switches like the XGS1935-28, connecting them via 10G fiber uplinks to a firewall or internet gateway. This model does not include PoE; power delivery is handled at the access layer. Environments such as K-12 campuses, department stores, boutique hotels, and branch offices benefit from its scalable, cost-effective fiber backbone capability. Setup and management require no CLI. The web interface covers 802.1Q VLANs, QoS with 8 hardware queues per port, IGMP snooping, LACP link aggregation (6 trunks, 8 links per trunk), STP/RSTP/MSTP, DoS prevention, and IPv4/IPv6 L3 static routing with up to 512 entries per protocol.
NebulaFlex allows standalone or license-free Nebula cloud operation at any time via browser or mobile app. Security includes 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, ACL filtering, and ARP inspection. An optional Access L3 license expands table sizes.
