Extreme Power & Unmatched Output: The M-10 D2 boasts a formidable 2000 Watts RMS and 4000 Watts Peak power handling, ensuring that every bass note is delivered with incredible force and fidelity. Its Dual 2 Ohm voice coil configuration provides flexibility for optimal amplifier matching, allowing you to build a high-performance system tailored to your exact needs. With a Sensitivity (Sens) of 79.14 dB, it efficiently converts power into commanding sound pressure levels. Revolutionary Excursion & Voice Coil Design: At the heart of the M-10 is a 3" diameter 4-Layer Round Wire Aluminum Voice Coil, wound on a thick aluminum former to achieve incredible levels of excursion. This new coil, developed for both the M and X v. 4 series, features a very special winding (originally invented by Sundown for the X-8 series) that allows for the best winding packing density in the gap. This massive coil enables the M-series to achieve a full 35mm one-way linear excursion (Xmax), truly setting a new industry standard for deep, controlled bass. The hyper-extended pole and extreme clearances ensure the coil remains effectively "bottomless, " allowing for massive peak-to-peak movement.
Advanced Thermal Management System: The M-Series incorporates Sundown's highly efficient high-stroke coil ventilation system, originally developed for the X and Z series. This advanced cooling includes a high-velocity pole vent, a heavily vented magnetic gap through the black backplate, and our proprietary high-velocity cast-aluminum frame-base venting system. These features meticulously control coil temperature, ensuring consistent performance and longevity even during the most demanding listening sessions.
Rugged Construction & Patented Design: Built to endure, the M-10 features a Quad Stack Magnet Structure with a 200mm ( 7.87 ) diameter motor and a total magnet stack height of 88mm ( 3.46 ). A full 20mm thick top-plate completes the efficient magnetic circuit. The subwoofer incorporates Sundown's custom-tooled and patented frames (US Patent Numbers D691596, D691597, D691598, and D741841) and the iconic Mega-Roll surround, which, combined with the proprietary Sundown PG linear suspension, provides incredibly linear response and minimizes distortion. Its magnet inner-diameter aluminum shorting ring further enhances inductive distortion performance.
Optimized Enclosure Versatility: The M-series was designed from the ground up to be the new standard in the low-frequency / small, ported box subwoofer category at its price point. It performs optimally in a 1.5 cu ft ported enclosure with a recommended tuning of 32Hz and a 24 sq in port area. Uniquely, the M-series also opens up possibilities for sealed ( 0.75 cu ft) and IB (infinite baffle) applications, something not well suited to other previous Mega platform subwoofers. Its compact Displacement of 0.2 cu ft, depth of 10.09", outside diameter of 11.65", and cut-out of 10.01" make it highly adaptable.
