Idatalink Maestro HRN-HRR-VW1 T-Harness for Select Volkswagen Vehicles 2002-16, Replace The Factory Radio While retaining Steering Wheel Controls & use of amp (ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 Module Required)

iDatalink plus VW iDatalink's HRN-HRR-VW1 interface harness allows you to connect a new car stereo in select 2002-16 Volkswagen VW and Audi vehicles, working in conjunction with iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module (sold separately). Once connected, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls, navigation outputs, and amplifier turn-on in these vehicles. You'll also gain the ability to assign secondary functions to your steering wheel audio controls. The package includes connectors that plug in between the Maestro module, your Volkswagen's radio's wiring plugs, and your new car stereo.

You'll have to solder or splice together this harness's power/ground, illumination, speaker, and navigation output wires to the corresponding wires on your aftermarket receiver's wiring harness. Extra functionality with an iDatalink-ready receiver With an iDatalink-ready car stereo, you'll retain the use of your digital fader with your VW amplified system, along with factory Bluetooth connectivity. You'll also be able to set up gauges on your receiver's screen to monitor engine performance, tire pressure, and other functions. You can even send navigation information from your new receiver to the multi-function display in your VW's instrument cluster.

This harness features an in-line head-unit connector harness, which will plug into their new "Head-unit direct" harnesses for select radio brands. If you're installing a radio that doesn't work with a "Head-unit direct" harness, you simply cut off the plug and connect the wires to the harness included with your new radio.

Features: The following factory features (if applicable) are retained when replacing your factory radio with a compatible iDatalink Serial Port head unit from Kenwood, JVC, Alpine, Sony, or Pioneer using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and HRN-HRR-VW1 installation harness.
Factory Amplifier: The factory analog or digital amplifier is retained with turn-on, fader, and gain control.
Steering Wheel Controls: Factory steering wheel controls are retained with two function buttons and expandable radio functions.
OEM Bluetooth: Retains factory Bluetooth hands-free communication and audio streaming (if equipped).
Secondary Vehicle Display: Song/Artist Info & Caller ID on factory installed
Multi-Function DisplayPark Assist: Park assist chimes are retained. However, factory backup camera is not retained.
RAP & Warning Chimes: The vehicle's RAP (Retained Accessory Power) & Warning Chimes are both retained.
Note: When installing an aftermarket head unit without the iDatalink Serial Port, only steering wheel controls, RAP, and amplifier turn-on are retained.
Extra Features: The following Extra features are added when replacing your aftermarket head unit with a compatible iDatalink Serial Port head unit from Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, or Alpine using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and HRN-HRR-VW1 installation harness.
Vehicle Info: Tire Pressure Display, Battery Voltage Display, Read/Reset Engine Codes, and Door Open Status with Warning.
Gauges: Selectable Performance Gauges, "Track Pack" Gauges, and Read/Reset Check Engine Codes.
Outputs: The HRN-HRR-VW1 provides Navigation, Accessory Power, and Illumination Outputs to make installation simpler.
