- The MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad is an easy-to-use flash programmer and debugging tool that provides everything needed for development on the MSP430 value series devices. It offers a 14/20-pin DIP socket target board with integrated simulation functionality, allowing for fast programming and debugging of the built-in MSP430 value series devices on the system via the Spy Bi-Wire (2-wire JTAG) protocol. Due to the extremely low power consumption of the MSP430 flash, it is possible to erase and program the flash memory within seconds without the need for an external power supply.
- The LaunchPad connects MSP430 devices to integrated software environments such as Code Composer Studio version 4 or IAR embedded development platforms. These IDEs on the MSP430 value series devices are free and unrestricted software. The LaunchPad supports all MSP430G2xx flash devices with 14 or 20-pin DIP packaging (TI packaging code: N). The LaunchPad also features onboard programmable LEDs and buttons for custom projects and applications! The 10-pin PCB connector can also be used to connect the LaunchPad and additional components.

The LaunchPad development board adopts:

Enables development on all MSP430 value series devices with 14 or 20 pin DIP (N) packaging.
The integrated simulator interface of the LaunchPad will connect the flash-based MSP430 value series devices to the PC and enable real-time in-system programming and debugging via USB.
Includes a micro USB cable that can be connected to the PC.
The included MSP43062xx device uses:
o On-board M430G2553 chip
o External M430G2452 chip
The attached SP430G2xx devices use pre-loaded sample programs. Now, versions of 1ARKickstart and Code Composer Studio 4 integrated development environments are available for free download. They include assemblers, linkers, simulators, source-level debuggers, and C compilers. These free IDEs on the MSP430 value-added series devices are unrestricted software.
