Question 1

If I ordered this, I'd mount it hanging from a ceiling tile.  Has anyone done this? Is it a clean mount with cable entering at the base?  Does image flip to accommodate the up-side-down orientation?

The cables connect to the rear of the camera at the base.

The interface will allow it to flip the image for upside down mounting

The mounting plate screws to the camera and then has 4 ears on it to attach it to whatever you wish to attach it to.  Two of these ears will be to the sides of the camera base and flat, the 2 at the rear are vertical to the base of the camera.

If that sounds confusing i'm sorry but basically mine is on the ceiling up against a wall. 2 of the screws go in the ceiling and the 2 at the rear into the wall to mount it a couple inches off the wall. My cable comes thru a small hole in the ceiling between the camera and the wall.

Question 2

The pan/tilt feature on this camera is where I can log into the camera remotely and "TURN" the camera a little bit and zoom in right?  I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.  Also, does this support full HD 1080p recordings / display?

Hi Daniel,

Sorry if you get this twice, I thought I had submitted a response but the next time I logged in it asked me to provide an answer again.

The pan-n-tilt does allow you to remotely turn the camera (left or right and up or down) and zoom remotely.  It also allows you to create a patrol list of positions which can be played back with short pauses at each, after which it leaves the camera at the last position defined in the list.  A home position can also be defined, which the camera positions to when first powered on, and you can request it to move to remotely as well.  This all works well for me when I connect through the web browser on my Windows laptop, but it does have to install a browser plug-in.  If however you use a tablet or smart phone, the client applications for those must support the pan-n-tilt functions for them to work.  So far the two Android appplications I've tried do not support these functions, so I haven't been able to use the pan-n-tilt features from an Android tablet and smart phone.

The zoom feature is really a digital zoom, as this camera does not have a zoomable lens.  Therefore, the affect is similar to changing the zoom level in the browser when viewing a picture.  If the picture (or camera) resolution isn't high enough to fill the area of pixels on your screen, then your image quality will be reduced.
