Manufacturer calls for a 50hz 230 volt power source. Last time I checked U.S. household current was 60Hz, 120v at most plugs (max 240volt plugs run your clothes dryer). User manual specifically bans connection to 60Hz power sources. This could account for non operational units. Any users running into this issue?

I just plugged into a regular outlet , 
Never had a problem, sounds great.
If you want you could plug in to a surge protector
Outlet, to be on the safe side ...
