I was just trying to use the tuner to test it before I started hooking everything up. with no sound at all after hooking up the speakers that came with it.

How do you hook up a sub-woofer?

Sub channel output is standard RCA plug, it has stereo output but mono (i.e. One cable) is more common if you have single sub

One of the features is "Internet Radio with vTuner".  Does this mean it can play Pandora without any other device connected, like a PC or ipad?

How do I connect a Memorex DVD player to the reciever?

with a cable.  Preferable an HDMI cable but i'm sure one of the old school RCA ones will work too if you don't care about quality.
