Question 1

Will the StarTech ARMTBLTUGN fit my tablet better than a VIVO STAND-V001UVM?

Accepted Answer

Check the tablet’s physical dimensions, not just its advertised screen size. The ARMTBLTUGN holds tablets 6.5–7.8 inches wide or long and up to 0.45 inches thick; the VIVO STAND-V001UVM lists a 7.5–10.3-inch clamp range and up to 0.75-inch thickness. Choose StarTech if your tablet fits its narrower holder and you want a detachable holder on a flexible gooseneck; consider VIVO if its wider clamp range better matches your device. Verify your tablet’s dimensions before buying.

Question 2

Is the StarTech ARMTBLTUGN a better choice than a regular tabletop tablet stand?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ARMTBLTUGN for a fixed desk or counter setup where you want the tablet held hands-free at an adjustable position: its clamp fits surfaces 0.8–1.9 inches thick, and its holder detaches from the arm. A tabletop stand is the more suitable comparison if you want a standalone holder that does not need to clamp to a desk. The StarTech mount is designed for surfaces within its stated clamp range.

Question 3

StarTech ARMTBLTUGN or a spring-loaded articulated tablet arm—which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the ARMTBLTUGN if you want a 19.7-inch flexible gooseneck, 360-degree positioning, and a holder that detaches from the arm. A spring-loaded articulated arm is worth considering if you want to reposition the arm while keeping the tablet’s angle; one community user described that as easier than readjusting a gooseneck. That is an individual experience, not a guarantee of performance across mounts.

Question 4

Will the clamp fit my desk or table?

Accepted Answer

The desk clamp is specified for surfaces 0.8–1.9 inches (20–50 mm) thick. Measure the edge where you plan to attach it; the holder is intended for a desk, counter, or tabletop within that range.

Question 5

Is this holder useful for hands-free desk work or video calls?

Accepted Answer

It is suited to hands-free viewing at a desk, such as reading, following a recipe, or keeping a tablet visible during a video call. It attaches with a desk clamp, so it is better suited to a fixed workspace than to travel or use on the go.

Question 6

How can I tell whether my tablet will fit?

Accepted Answer

Check the tablet’s physical width and thickness, not just its screen diagonal. This holder fits tablets 6.5–7.8 inches wide and up to 0.45 inches (11.5 mm) thick. A tablet with a case must still fit within those limits.

Question 7

Can I position the tablet in portrait or landscape?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The holder supports portrait and landscape viewing, and the flexible arm and adjustable holder let you change the tablet’s position and viewing angle.
