The Roku Ultra 2024 (model 4850R) is a 4K streaming player with Dolby Vision, HDR10/10+, HLG, Dolby Atmos support, and Wi-Fi 6. It suits viewers who want a fast Roku experience and high-quality picture and sound on a compatible TV and audio setup.

Recommended For

Viewers adding 4K Dolby Vision or HDR10+ streaming to a compatible TV and Atmos audio system, who want a dedicated player for a living-room movie setup.
Households that want quick access to streaming apps with a rechargeable, backlit remote, hands-free voice commands, and a remote finder—useful when the remote is often misplaced or used in a dark room.
Viewers whose current Roku device feels slow, or whose home network has many connected devices, and who want faster app launches and Wi‑Fi 6 support.
People who prefer a straightforward app-focused TV home screen and want wired Ethernet or USB playback as alternatives to relying only on Wi‑Fi and streaming apps.

Real-World Use Scenarios

When a TV’s built-in streaming apps feel slow or are no longer supported, connect the Roku Ultra by HDMI to keep using the TV for streaming; 4K and HDR playback depend on a compatible TV, content, and internet connection.
For movie nights on a compatible 4K TV and home-theater audio system, stream supported titles in Dolby Vision or other supported HDR formats, with Dolby Atmos available when the content and audio equipment support it.
If Wi-Fi is unreliable where the TV is located, connect the player to the router by Ethernet to avoid relying on a weak wireless signal; actual streaming quality still depends on the internet service and network.
When someone wants to watch TV without disturbing others, pair Bluetooth headphones with the Ultra for private listening.
For a media collection stored on a USB drive, connect it to the player to browse and play supported local video, audio, or image files on the TV.
In a dim room or when the remote is misplaced, use the backlit Voice Remote Pro and its remote-finder feature to make controls easier to see and locate.
