The BRHE PS5 Controller Skin is a fitted silicone cover for the PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller, designed for players who want improved grip, protection from scratches and drops, and added joystick coverage during extended gaming sessions.
Recommended For
- PS5 players whose hands become sweaty or slippery during long gaming sessions and want a silicone surface with more grip than the bare DualSense shell.
- Owners who want to reduce scratches, fingerprints, sweat buildup, and minor handling wear on a PS5 DualSense controller without replacing the controller shell.
- Players who want additional thumbstick traction or basic joystick-wear protection through the included thumb-grip caps, especially for extended casual or action-game sessions.
- PS5 users who want to personalize a standard DualSense with a decorative cat-ear, cat-paw, blue silicone design rather than keep the controller’s original appearance.
- Households that share a PS5 controller and value a removable, wipe-clean cover for handling sweat, fingerprints, and everyday surface contact.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- During long or intense PS5 sessions, a player with sweaty hands uses the silicone skin to improve grip; the textured cover can make the DualSense feel more secure and reduce the chance of it slipping.
- When playing shooters, sports games, or racing games, the included thumb grips provide a more textured surface for the analog sticks; users may gain a steadier thumb hold, although the added height or thickness can require a short adjustment period.
- For a controller used by children, guests, or multiple family members, the removable silicone cover helps shield the DualSense from fingerprints, surface dirt, and minor scratches; it can be removed for cleaning rather than cleaning the controller shell directly.
- If the original DualSense shell is prone to cosmetic wear, the skin adds a soft outer layer that can help protect against everyday scuffs and minor knocks; it should not be treated as full drop protection.
- A user who stores the controller on a charging station can leave the cover installed if the skin and dock have enough clearance; real-world fit varies by dock design and cover thickness, so wired USB-C charging may be more reliable with incompatible third-party stands.
- For users who want to change the look of a standard white DualSense, the cat-ear, cat-paw, blue, and sticker styling adds a decorative appearance without replacing the controller; the trade-off is that the added cover changes the feel and visual profile of the original design.

Reference Q&A
Q: Is the BRHE PS5 controller skin better than using a DualSense without a case?
A: Choose the BRHE skin if you want more grip, fingerprint resistance, light scratch protection, and included thumb grips without replacing the DualSense controller. Use the controller without a case if you prefer Sony’s original shape and surface feel or want to avoid any possible fit changes around the charging dock and thumbsticks.
Q: Is the BRHE skin a better choice than buying a DualSense Edge?
A: The BRHE skin is the better choice when your existing DualSense works properly and you mainly want improved grip, cosmetic customization, and basic protection. The DualSense Edge is intended for performance-focused users who need adjustable profiles, replaceable stick modules, and interchangeable stick caps; it is a controller upgrade rather than a protective accessory.
Q: Should I choose the BRHE skin or thumb grips only for better control?
A: Choose the BRHE skin if you want both palm-grip improvement and thumbstick coverage in one accessory. Choose thumb grips only if the DualSense already feels secure in your hands and your main concern is changing stick height, texture, or thumb comfort while preserving the controller’s original body shape.
Q: Is the BRHE skin better than a generic silicone PS5 controller case?
A: The BRHE skin is the better choice when you want a DualSense-specific fit, cat-ear and cat-paw styling, two included thumb grips, and claimed compatibility with the official charging station. A generic silicone case may cost less or offer different textures, but charging-dock fit and thumbstick clearance should be verified before buying because users frequently report compatibility differences between silicone covers.
Q: Should I use the BRHE skin or a hard travel case for a PS5 controller?
A: Choose the BRHE skin for grip and protection during normal play at home. Choose a hard travel case when the main priority is carrying the controller in a backpack or luggage, because a dedicated case is designed to protect the controller from pressure and impacts during transport while the BRHE skin remains attached for gameplay.
Q: Will this skin fit a PS5 DualSense controller without blocking the buttons?
A: Yes. It is designed specifically for the PS5 DualSense controller, with precision cutouts intended to preserve access to the buttons and controls. It is not designed for PS4, Xbox, or other controller models.
Q: Can I charge the controller in a PS5 charging station while the skin is installed?
A: The product listing states that the skin is suitable for use with a charging station. However, charging-dock fit can vary by dock design and by the thickness of the skin, so users should confirm the fit with their specific station. Some full-body skins may need to be removed.
Q: Does this cover improve grip during long or intense gaming sessions?
A: Yes. The silicone material is designed to add friction and reduce slipping, which can make the controller easier to hold during extended play. The trade-off is that the added layer may slightly change the controller’s original feel and size.
Q: Does it protect the DualSense controller from scratches and everyday wear?
A: Yes. The silicone skin is intended to protect the controller from fingerprints, scratches, and minor everyday handling damage. It can reduce surface wear, but it should not be treated as a replacement for a hard protective case against major impacts or drops.
Q: What is included, and does the package contain a PS5 controller?
A: The package includes one silicone controller skin, two thumb-grip caps, and one controller sticker. The PS5 DualSense controller is not listed as included, so buyers should expect to purchase or already own the controller separately.
Q: Is the BRHE PS5 controller skin worth buying for better grip and protection?
A: It is most suitable for players whose DualSense feels slippery or needs protection from fingerprints, scratches, and light drops. It is less useful if you prefer the original controller feel, do not need added grip, or want to avoid extra bulk. Similar PS5 silicone covers are commonly discussed as improving grip and keeping controllers cleaner, but they do not prevent analog stick drift.
Q: Will this PS5 controller cover fit on the official charging station?
A: The product is designed with a cutout intended to support charging-station use, but dock compatibility can vary by cover shape and station design. Reddit discussions report that some full silicone skins fit the official dock while others require removing, trimming, or loosening the cover. Confirming the exact dock and fit is advisable before buying.
Q: Do the cat ears, paw design, or thumb grips interfere with gameplay?
A: The product information states that the cutouts do not cover the controller buttons. However, similar cat-ear PS5 covers have been reported to partially obstruct the L2/R2 triggers, and thumb grips can change the feel of the analog sticks. The cover is better suited to casual and general gaming than to players who require completely unobstructed controls.
Q: Is this controller skin practical for travel and long-term use?
A: It is practical for routine home use because silicone covers are washable and add protection, but it may be less convenient for travel because the cover increases the controller’s size. Similar users have also reported that some silicone covers can become loose after repeated removal and that residue may require cleaning. It is best for users who prioritize grip and protection over compact storage.
