Great quality, outstanding storage capacity. 9/21/2018 8:03:42 AM

Pros: Lian-Li typical great quality in a lightweight package. This thing can hold a massive 12x 3.5" HDDs, the most I could find of any case. The optical drive flap is removeable if you don't want it. Comes with a ton of screws of various types, and even includes a clear plastic case to organize and hold the extras! Lost of good cable routing options in the case.

Cons: 3-pin fans? Really? Had to replace those with some Noctua 4-pin PWM fans.
Although it came with 120mm grills for if you want to install fans on the top, it did not include 140mm grills for the side panel, which is where I wanted to install the fans.

Overall Review: Overall it's a great case. I will say that there is a tremendous amount of wasted space in this case, though. There is SO MUCH room between the HDD cage and the motherboard, that they could have doubled the number of hard drives it can hold.
I also ordered the BP3SATA backplanes (from somewhere else... Newegg doesn't sell) to use with this case, and they installed quickly and easily.

This would actually be the ideal case for my NAS if it were only a little wider 5/31/2018 12:02:24 AM

Pros: 12 drives! all well cooled with fans! that is awesome.
Non Rack mount cases that support a large number of drives are getting hard to find, which is really too bad because NAS systems are getting more and more popular, and I dont want or need a server rack in my house, just a good case able to support many drives.

Cons: As Chaddix M. pointed out in his review, even with the angled connectors, the case is just too narrow to close. The case was obviously designed as the ideal case for a lot of hard drives, if only they had made it a little bit wider.

Overall Review: I really appreciate that Chaddix M. wrote his review, I would have been so upset (or as he put it, infuriated) if I had purchased this case for a NAS build only to realize the case didnt want to close without cramping the cables.

Because this case is as narrow as it is, I ended up buying another massive case thats less expensive but supports nowhere near as many drives, I will have to remove included drive cage and just make my own drive cage out of angled aluminum brackets.

It's not the Lian-Li of old, but it's pretty good for it's intended purpose. 6/21/2017 8:20:14 PM

Pros: Conservative looks, with no flashing led's or other nonsense.
Aluminum, so it's light weight, at least until you stuff it full of drives.
Not overpriced like a lot of other Lian-Li / Lancool cases, and is outright cheap when on sale.
Fits the biggest air coolers out there, if that's the route you're going.

Cons: Side panels are not the "old" Lian-Li - they're thinner and flimsier. That said, they're fine.
No sound dampening, but again - it's fine.
Like all aluminum cases it scratches waaaay to easy.

Overall Review: This case has a purpose - store a boatload of drives. If you get it for this purpose, you will be very happy. There is no door to block the airflow so drives do not boil, and dust filters do a good job of keeping the system clean even with all this air flowing in.

I have three of these as data storage/servers. For that job, they are ideal.

Looks great, but... 7/1/2016 10:17:55 AM

Pros: Looks solid, Easy setup.

Cons: I have 10 hard drives in the hard drive bays and the case is just too small to close the outside without cramping any of the cables.. it's infuriating. I have the angled sata cables and angled power cables, but there's just no way it will close without sacrificing the integrity of the drives and cables.

Bubonic Plague is Better 12/5/2015 8:52:40 PM

Pros: Toolless Fans, CPU cable cut out.

Cons: The entire case is not meant for any ease whatsoever. Installing the Corsair h100i entailed unscrewing the top, the middle stabilizer bar, then balancing the 120mm fans with a dust wire mesh on top of it. Finally, after 30+ mins and another set of hands mixed with a dash of luck and saint like patience, we were able to get the rad mounted. Once mounted we had to UNMOUNT because the case doesnt support a push/pull.

Also, the screws that are used to support the metal top cut outs are so flimly we stripped them right away. I had to run to home depot to get screw taps to bore them out. ALL 8 OF THEM! Barely used any hand force and, POOF, stripped out! I couldnt believe it!!

All screws that came with it, we had to be fully aware of how minimal of hand force we used for fear of stripping out even the fans screws that came with.

HORRIBLE!! Just appalling!

Overall Review: Just do not waste your money on this. If you chose to waste your money invest in some headache medicine.

***Update*** 10/24/2015 11:21:33 AM

Pros: Good case

Cons: N/A

Overall Review: I burned Lian Li pretty bad, and I think an apology is owed. The HDD mounting system is different, you have to screw in the mounting screws to the hdd, with the rubber buffers, that's important. Not using the buffers will result in a noisy case, or worse. I've owned 3 cases and none of them use a system like this but it does manage to hold the drives pretty securely once done correctly. And newegg can delete my other review if you want.

Great design and huge space, not too many features 6/29/2015 7:29:41 AM

Pros: Sleek design; not too heavy; lots of space inside; lots of room for expansion; lots of fan options; good airflow

Cons: No room for front radiator without removing drive cage, which can only be removed with a drill. Not a lot of space behind the motherboard

Overall Review: There is space for 2 140mm fans on the side panel, but the case does not include grills or filters for them.

Excellent Server Case 5/18/2015 7:21:04 PM

Pros: I just got this case today. I can tell you it's no larger than previous Lian-Li Full tower cases. I do miss the rolling wheels on my old Lian Li v2000, but this model is worth it.

12 Hard Drive slots on the front with 3 x 140mm fans (the v2000 has them stacked at the bottom 6x6 (with one fan), and the second row of drives tend to get very hot. Having all of the drives in the front will cause less drive failures due to better air flow. I've lost 4 drives recently due to various reasons, but this better air flow should keep my new drives working better.

Cons: The Fan Filters do suck pretty bad... but just like another reviewer said... easy fix. I put 4 eggs instead of 5 due to the fact you have to go through doing this.... took me... 15 minutes... but still they should have figured this out at the factory, and changed the design. (take your filters off and put them on the other side of the metal holes, you have to lock them in, so they are not easily removed ... but i tend to use an air compressor anyways on these to clean them out from time to time anyways... so works for me.

Overall Review: For the price... especially since it's on sale right now... I would go for it.... if you need to run 12+ hard drives and want to make sure they stay cool.

It actually runs quieter than my desktop after fixing the front fan filters (at first boot they made a lot of noise... had to immediately fix that.... thus having to not give this 5 star review.

The front Optical drive bezel broke easily.... but i have a black DVD drive anyways (only used for installing Centos Linux anyways...or the occasional Parted Magic or memtest, so no big deal there.... looks fine.

Case runs very silent even with full power to the fans (as far as I'm concerned).... i want full air flow.... and again it's quieter than my desktop (which has water cooling)

If you are a person looking for a case where you can run 12+ hard drives, and keep them very well cooled to avoid failure, then this is for you....

I thought it was going to be an ugly case from the pictures (i prefer rounded edges).... but it's actually pretty aesthetically pleasing in person.

If you have bought previous Lian Li cases and know what to expect.... this one is opposite from their older designs (motherboard sits on the right side now, instead of the left).... but i love this case and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a "server" case and not a desktop.... look elsewhere for that.... but perfect for my needs. Hope this helps.
