Focusing on a more 'make-your-own' product philosophy, the MasterCase 5 gives you the absolute control over how your case looks and functions. Its elegantly smooth, flexible FreeForm Modular System allows you to customize and upgrade your case's form and functionality with multiple interior and exterior accessories*. Meanwhile, whether in hardware compatibility, expandability or cooling performance, the MasterCase 5 doesn’t make any compromise.
Go with either basic dual top handles and standard door of the MasterCase 5 or an elevated mesh top cover of the MasterCase Pro 5.
* Accessories may not be included. Please refer to the specifications.
FreeForm Modular System
FreeForm Modular System lets you adjust the exterior structure and aesthetic via a range of replacement panels and doors. Each choice changes the look and feel of the case, but also the flexibility of the interior layout.
Customize with External Modularity
Easily customize your case by adding a top cover and water bracket for a new look along with liquid cooling radiator support, freeing up space inside the case. And if you want to show off your system, a window side panel is also available. These options are included in MasterCase Pro 5 version or available separately.
Adjust Internal Layout Clip-and-Click Panel
But this isn't just about aesthetics. Each decision opens new possibilities.
Leveraging the unique clip-and-click panel, FreeForm lets you vertically adjust or entirely remove your optical disk drive (ODD) and HDD via sliding locks. So intuitive, you'll play with your configurations just for fun. Well, some people will. Just click-in the cages, and adjust the height to suit their needs. Position them at the top to allow room for up to three extra-long graphics cards, or retain only the bottom positioned cages to add a front-mounted radiator for even more cooling options.
Integrate replacement accessories like:
Slip-and-Clip Pockets
The first Cooler Master case to incorporate two easy to install slip-and-clip solid-state drive pockets (2.5") with four easy mounting positions. Showcase them on the partition panel or hide them behind the motherboard tray for a cleaner look.
Unmatched Ventilation
FreeForm enables the option to install three front-mounted 140mm fans and a 280mm radiator for unmatchable ventilation due to a unique facility to horizontally shift the bottom-mounted hard disk drives. There's also support for up to six 140mm fans through the case, unique for a mid-sized tower.
Accessories
FreeForm extends beyond the case to include all the support you need in terms of selecting and purchasing components through a range of accessories to truly help you Make It Yours.
Each case comes with a different number of MasterAccessories. Which MasterCase is Right for You?

Pros: Best case I've ever bought by far, and I've built ten PC's.
Cons: This thing is Perfect to me.
Pros:
-Quite a large case, which is nice for making modifications to your build (adding RAM, swapping out hard drives, replacing the PSU, etc.)
-Has lots of space for cable management
-Built in dust filters (keeps out most of the dust), plus a removable dust filter over the PSU
Cons:
-Window gets scratched up quite easily. Not a big deal for me, and I'm sure it can be buffed out.
-Built in dust filters (dust somewhat visibly collects on the outside). Also not a big deal for me, but now the dust has to be cleaned out from the inside and the outside.
Overall Review:
I upgraded from an incredibly small case that made it close to impossible to make modifications to the computer. I used to have to take the entire motherboard out to swap out RAM! Not only was this case an amazing upgrade, it only costed me $20 more than my original case! This case has plenty of room to manage your cables, or to have a cable jungle if you aren't a neat-freak. This case was definitely worth the extra money!
I move around quite frequently, and take part in a lot of LAN parties, so my original small case had that going, but this one actually isn't too bad to move around, since I found a large reusable grocery bag that this case fits almost perfectly in.
Pros: Lots of space, nice big fans and the cable management was wonderful
Cons: May have missed it in the details but came to find out that even though there is a drive bay cutout for the front mesh there isn't actually anything to attach the drive with.
Overall Review: Throwing in a cheap bracket for the disk drive would go a long way
Pros:
- well constructed
- when I couldn't find the accessory pack (screws, straps, etc), I called tech support at Cooler Master and someone answered immediately, and told me where to look - the packaging was also well constructed, I thought it was part of the hard disk enclosure, duh.
- pretty easy to keep cables neat and tidy, and hidden behind the MOBO.
Cons:
- screw holes are drilled but not tapped, so need a lot of force
- pictures in newegg are deceiving, fans are NOT equipped with led lighting. While they are clearly shown as such, I will admit it doesn't say there are any led fans in the coolermaster docs
- the case drive bay have nice plastic slide-in trays (one of its selling points), but they are a bit wobbly, not sure if hard drive spinning up and down will vibrate enough to damage the platter over time
Overall Review: A pretty good case, I took away one egg due to the deceiving pictures with lit led fans, but since I didn't really care that much about them, I didn't return it. also, pay attention to the dimensions, it kind of big for a mid tower case.
Pros: Cost for what you are getting. Very user friendly to build with. Wide enough to easily fit the Noctua CPU cooler. Sturdy. Room for 6 140MM fans ( if you forgo the internal 5.25 drives ).
Cons: Only issue I found is the " look " if you use all three 140MM fans up front. This leaves a minor ununiformed appearance as the two slots for internal 5.25 drive bays have that line going across where they can be removed. Perhaps they can have two different front panel screens to use in a future version which would make this a perfect case overall at that point. Cosmetic issue so not a real con but the only improvement I would suggest.
Overall Review: Highly recommend this case. I just put it up against the Corsair 450D ( which is a great case as well ) and it is overall better. More overall room and sturdier as well.
Pros: I have really liked Cooler Master and have used them since I began building PCs. This case is no exception to their quality. I love how the PSU can be installed from the back, instead of putting through side. Another great feature is how they built the panel screws into the case so you don't lose them when taking a panel off! Also the filters are always a nice plus! Love how they have all the rubber grommets and the velcro behind the motherboard for cable management. A lot of bays for drives and 2 devices (DVD Drive, Fan Controller). The included fans are always a plus and I've never had problems with their stock fans.
Cons: I don't really like the windowed panel and how it fits into the case. Not the easiest to put back. Would of liked to see them use a hing point at the bottom like some of their HAF cases.
Overall Review: I highly recommend this case though for a nice clean setup and good looking rig!
Pros:
good quality
air flow is good
has fan and lighting
Cons:
the fan and lighting controler is kind confusing for beginner like me
the case was a lot bigger then I thought

Pros: The multiple modular options is great. I've been adding pieces as I need and it always looks good. The rubber holes are great.
Cons: In my opinion it needs more cable management routes.
Overall Review: I fully recommend this product to experienced and new builders. I used it for my first build and it felt good to build on it, lots of space.
