Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice sleek looks and comes with 4 fans. Interior has plenty of room and places to hide wiring. It’s possible to have a very clean and customized look, but a couple of additional holes need to be created to better hide the wiring. The power supply is at the bottom, which gives room at the top for a top facing fan. The cooling is fantastic and the fans can be set at the lowest of the 3 settings for a quiet PC.

Cons: Wire and cable management could be slightly better, but it’s still good compared to many other cases.

Pros: Great airflow with 4 fans, room for whatever your needs may be...large graphics cards included. Make sure you get a 3 pin fan wire splitter/y-cable because the fans are 3 pin and most Mobos come with only 3 plugs! Nice clean look with nice blue led lights.

Overall Review: This thing is BIG. It looks really nice with my Corsair GS600 PSU with blue LED lights and my black and blue ASUS motherboard. I actually haven't finished this build yet, but it still looks awesome.

Pros: Attractive design. Fluid air flow. Sturdy construction. The numerous fans are all very quiet and provide more than sufficient cooling under all conditions. My 700W system is always below 45C, so I can have the piece of mind knowing that my investment isn't being abused.

Cons: Wire for the front audio jack is unshielded and can pick up interference from the internal components, causing slight static. This can be remedied by routing the wire away from "noisy" components and/or shielding it yourself.

Overall Review: Four fans total (two front, one top, one back). All but the back have blue LED's, so don't buy this if you're turned off by the modest flash. If that sort of look works for you though, then this case delivers in both form and function.

Pros: Roomy. Fans are very quite and there are 4 of 'em. The front fans are housed in a metal grid which you can unscrew (va thumbscrews) and swing out and then lift off. This came in very handy when installing power cables to the MoBo and graphics card. All cabling was lengthy enough. Can't say enough about this case!

Overall Review: Was helping my son build a system and we picked this because of the price, and the Antec quality. This case was deep enough for a 5870 graphics card and wide enough for an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7. Many reviewers pee and moan about how their graphics card or their cooling tower just "barely" fit. I say if it fits, then shut up about it "barely" fitting. Only gripe if it doesn't fit.

Pros: The Antec 300, including its Illusion version, is designed as a low cost, high quality, strong, mid-size case. In this regard, many of the cons mentioned by others... although true... should not be cons whatsoever. The major issue many people are talking about is cable management. This case is not as wide or long as a full tower ATX case that cost $100 or more. As a result, it doesn't have a removable MB tray, rubber lined holed in the MB tray for cable mgnt, etc. Despite this, there is plenty of room (with proper cabling) for a high end air cooled 2 card SLI/CF rig. See other thoughts...

Cons: 1. A bit dated design, considering they have been being produced for a few years. The addition of a USB 3.0 front header (for 2 ports, to be placed alongside the 2 USB 2.0 ports) would alleviate this concern. (Simply update the port bay and keep the case design the same.) 2. Including 4 4 pin Molex to 3 pin MB fan headers with the case would fix the problem that users with high-end MBs face. (Wanting to use the MB's fan controls, via a program such as SpeedFan or the board's own UEFI, for fan control.)

Overall Review: 1. For setups using a MB with an onboard audio header located above the first PCI-E (usually x1) slot, run the case's cable under the motherboard and up at this slot. (How many MBs can actually use the topmost slot, due to the "northbridge" heatsink, anyway?) 2. For MBs with USB 2.0 headers along the middle of the bottom edge of the board, run the case's USB header under the MB. 3. MB fan headers in the wrong spot for easy cabling? Again... under the MB. 4. Long video cards will most likely block the use of the hard drive bays directly behind them. (Plan according.) You can easily fit 2 high end single GPU cards and 3 drives in the case. (If motivated, buy a 5.25" bay adapter and put a 4th drive in the upper area.) 5. You can use non-modularly cabled power supplies in the case. (As long as you don't use the bottom disk drive spot.) Simply properly tie the extra cables together and put them in the bottom... out of the way. Most people don't need a full tower case.

Pros: Solid construction, excellent ventilation and four fans at a great price. Layout's plenty spacious. Little niceties you don't get in a cheaper case, like replaceable expansion slot covers, front filter, solid front ports, bag of thumbscrews to use wherever. Bottom mounted PSU so you don't have the entire heat of the case rising and vented through your PSU (my main reason for the upgrade). It looks good. Side panels release and hinge out to remove, which are new to me but I find easier than the usual design of lining up and sliding side panels forward. Everything seems consistently machined, holes in the right places, parts lining up; if you don't think this is worth mention you've never owned a case in the $20-30 range.

Cons: Top 140mm that arrived was actually a two-speed, though the product description claimes three. If it's a mistake it's not worth the effort for me to RMA. I/O connectors could've used a little extra length, but all fit my Asus M4A785TD-V EVO without a hitch (I unclipped and ran the HD audio cable under the bottom right corner of the motherboard so as to reach). All fans are molex and do not give the option of motherboard control.

Overall Review: For people after a silent rig, the loudest culprit will be the 140mm up top (at least if it's the same 2-speed I got). It's a plenty quiet case by normal standards, but noisy by "silent pc" standards; that's why you see the variance here in reviews. From my rough estimation and monkeying with fans, I think I stop hearing fans somewhere under 18 dBA, these fans on their lowest are well above that but by no means obnoxious. The fact that HD's are exposed frontwise, while it cools them, will also make hard drive noise more apparent. Specs I pulled from the internet for a tricool 120mm (RPM/dBA/CFM) 1500/32/94 (high), 1100/24/67(med), 700/20/47 (low). The two-speed 140mm I have I'd guess to be about 24dBA.
