Meet the LanBoy Air. Nearly every part on this case, even the motherboard and PSU mounts, is modular and customizable. Up to 15 exhaust fans create positive air pressure inside the case that blows dust and heat out through panel perforations. Up front, the LanBoy Air's AirMounts HDD mounting system literally suspends drives in mid-air for unsurpassable vibration and noise resistance. Along with its two internal 2.5" SSD bays and a front-panel USB 3.0 port, the LanBoy Air is the last word in high-flexibility PC case design.
Fully-modular DesignWhat highlights the LanBoy Air is its modular design allowing highly customizable installation. Nearly every panel, including the motherboard tray and the power supply cage, can be removed and relocated to suit your needs.
Open-frame Mesh Panel ConstructionThe open-frame mesh panel construction keeps cool air in, dust and heat out for superior cooling performance while preventing dust accumulation.
Supreme Expandability plus AirMount HDD Suspension Mount SystemThe Antec LanBoy Air boasts 6 x 3.5’’ drive bays, 3 x external 5.25" HDDs and 2 x internal bottom-mounted 2.5" SSD bay, together with 8 x expansion slots for triple graphics-card configurations. Advanced Cooling System - up to 15 FansThe Antec LanBoy Air has been pre-installed with 2 x front variable-speed 120mm blue LED fans with stepless control knobs, 1 x rear 120mm TwoCool blue LED fan and 2 x side 120mm TwoCool blue LED fans for graphics cards. And if that’s not enough, you can mount optional 2 x 120mm fan for CPU and memory cooling, 6 x 120mm side drive bay fans and 2 x 120mm top fans to build custom, peerless air cooling system. (Note: maximum CPU cooler height: 150mm with optional side fan installed, 160mm without.)
Water Cooling ReadyThe Antec LanBoy Air is ready for a water cooling system, with top water cooling radiator fitting and rear water cooling grommets.
Convenient Front I/O Panel with USB 3.0 PortThe convenient front I/O panel offers easy access to one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, audio in and out ports (AC’97 and HDA compatible).

Pros: Outside of a custom design, this case is about as close as you can get to fully customizable. Perfect for those that want a lot of options on how they setup the interior but don't want to go so far as to build their own case or have one custom made. I really like being able to mount my drives facing the side of the case and how I can choose whether to mount my PSU in the bottom or the top of the case. The open air design is solid and while the black parts of the case frame and doors tend to be plastic it is still very solid.
That said I could only give it 3 eggs due to a number of shortcomings....
Cons: 1. The case is not Fully Modular as is advertised. All drives must be mounted in the front of the case, your options limited to front or left facing.(While looking at the front of the case).
2. The doors and side panels are one solid piece despite looking as if they would be modular, Those blue bars on the panels are mostly decorative. You cannot re-arrange them or even flip them.
3. The suspended drive cables are an excellent idea, except that they are not secure and allow the drives to slide back and forth. Additionally, once you attach the cables, they tend to tilt due to the weight and any movement of the case has them flopping around inside.
4. While they did provide the doors, sidepanels and power supply tray with thumb screws, they didn't for the toolbox or mainboard tray. I can see no physical limiting factor for this. (plus its amusing to need a screwdriver to access the screwbox.)
Overall Review: 5. The case is designed for 120mm fans. However Several locations have severe limitations
If you wish to use the top fan spots, you must mount them on the exterior and there is no grille to cover them. you also have to remove the rear handle in order to use one of the spots. You may also find an issue with some of the larger CPU coolers when attempting to use the side panel fans, so keep that in mind when deciding on such items.
I was aware of these issues going in. With my product selection and fan placement I knew I wasn't going to encounter any show stopping issues. For me the benefits of the case overcame its shortcomings for me but keep them in mind when deciding on whether or not to purchase this otherwise excellent case.
The front fans are not currently available separately for purchase but a call to tech support allowed me to order a third so the front of my case has 3 speed controlled fans instead of 2, Thumbscrews also available and I recommend for the mb tray and to
This the review I wanted to write4/16/2011 8:25:26 AM
Pros: I love this case. I simply love this case. It is the best case I have ever owned and built a rig with. I spent a whole day just playing with different configs and had a blast. It is WELL made in spite of what some have said. The anodized blue frame is just very high quality and the mesh is very well done. It cools awesome with all the fans pointed in and no dust at all after 2 weeks. Pointing the fans all in was a little weird for me but just do it, it works.
-I use 9 fans and it is a cooling machine
-Power supply up or down! I went up....love it.
-Big enough for my GTX 590 without problem
-The floating HD mounts are no gimmick, they are NICE.
-REMOVABLE MOTHERBOARD IS SIMPLY PRICELESS
-Switches are all high quality
-floating HD thingees are very cool as is the SSD tray at the bottom currently housing my 240gb Vertex 3.
Cons: I guess maybe price a little, but I would pay it again for this case in a second. It is VERY well engineered.
The USB 3.0 is a pass through that you are suppose to run through the case and plug into the back of the mb's 3.0 port. This is obviously a workaround for Antec......BUT.....read my other thoughts.
Overall Review: The front USB 3.0 pass through works when you plug it into the back BUT....I have a better solution if you have an Asus P8P67 DELUXE mb. Has to be the Deluxe...The Deluxe comes with a floppy size USB 3.0 box that is suppose to go in the front of the case. I just mounted it in one of the "Floating" HD spaces and then plugged the front of case USB 3.0 cable into that internally. It leaves the back I/O 3.0 wide open and you hide the cable. It works perfect :)
One last thing, the bottom of the case is part mesh, I pulled the case feet off and bought Antec's case wheels which raises the case up off the carpet a good 3"'s. The wheels are only like $30 bucks and the airflow gained from the bottom up is great.
I honestly can see myself using this case for 10 years. NO MORE HAVING TO LEAVE THE DOOR OFF MY CASE!!!
Pros: Came with everything I needed to put it together.
It was a fun case to assemble.
The MB tray and back panel is a nice design and easy to assemble.
Cons: You need a manual to put this together correctly.
Didn't come with the manual so you need to go back and forth to another PC during the install.
Lots of little/non standard screws.
Overall Review: Had to remove the fans on the side panel to just fit my Scythe SCMG-2100 CPU cooler.
Fits my GTX295.
It's like the erector set of computer cases.
Pros: -Excellent airflow
-Plenty of room for expansion
-Insanely modular
-"AirMounts HDD suspension mount system" is trully amazing
-15 different spots to mount fans
-The mounted toolbox is an awesome feature that ALL cases should have
-Looks great
Cons: Would have liked it to include at least a couple more fans, but at least purchasing more is cheap...
Overall Review: Antec makes a great product, and this case is no exception. I purchased this to replace my Antec 1200 (also a great case), and I couldn't be happier.
Pros: This case is great. It is very very easy to get around inside. It is also very easy to configure the case to meet the mounting needs of your equipment. Moving the fans around let me put cool air on the right spots, fit in a huge CPU heat sink, and have plenty of room to run cables. I'm glad I sprung for this case. The built quality is great. It comes with (pretty much) enough hardware to get you rolling. If you decide to mount a lot of drives, you might need to get some screws unless your drives come with screws as well.
Cons: None really, just improvement suggestions (below) for the second revision I'm sure Antec is working on.
Overall Review: Improvement ideas for Antec:
- Include some more 5.25 bay rails and some 3.5 adapters. I didn't really like the AirMount stuff. The data and power cables are making my drives pop wheelies. I'd rather hard mount the drives to the case. Include rubber stabilizers if you're concerned about vibration damage or noise.
- Make the side panels modular for even more exact cooling fan placement.
-Headphone/microphone jacks on the front feel cheap and need an upgrade. When I plug in my headset, the connectors don't really slide and click easily like they do with other units.
-Include some slim fans please. I had to move one of the side fans because there wasn't enough room with a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ CPU cooler installed.
-Include +/- symbols on all of the front panel connectors (most already have it). I had to flip the H.D. activity light connector.
-Make a full size version please.
-The rear fan has a nice mounting hole for the speed switch. Please include some for sides fans

Issues with paint11/9/2010 6:43:18 PM
Pros: -Modular
-Light
-Nice cooling (I think)
Cons: Somewhat cheap side panels. The paint on mine had bad spots on one of the top metal supports. I've actually had 3 different cases. On the first one one of the vertical doors would catch on one of the screws and mark up the door. The second one had the paint issue. I got a 3rd and this time yellow and all is well except the 2 front fans had fallen out during shipping and one of then had a broken support. I glued and it seems to be ok.
Manufacturer Response:
Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We're very sorry to hear about your experiences with the LanBoy air. This certainly isn't the experience we want any of our customers to have. Could you please contact me at jlawrence@antec.com so we can get some more information about this?
Thank you,

Antec Inc.
Pros: I can hardly say anything bad about this case. really its fantastic.
-super nice finish
-plenty of screws and things to hook everything up
-very open
-easy to run wires
-customization
-Cools.....well. I wouldn't say exceptionally
-durable/handles/fans/lights/blue
-also like to mention that IT LOOKS AMAZING!
Cons: There are however a couple of unfortunate faults. Not egg worthy.
-hard to close panels after it is fully built. Even if you are a cable management wiz.
-Fans are not silent by any means. especially when you tie up the fan power cables only to start hearing them get shredded by the fans (fixable)
-Price...of course I went with a blue themed build...but why do I pay $60 more than the yellow case? I am assuming sales numbers
-Somewhat heavy for its smaller size
-of course the size
Overall Review: This is not really a con but more of an error on my fault. I had seen and heard that it is somewhat small, but also spacious for a mid tower. I did my research on what I could truly fit inside this case. I did however have some issues with things either barely fitting or cause troubles with the panels fitting properly. This is mostly due to my specs.:
MSI 990FX mobo
16 GB ddr3 1600 mhz corsair vengeance
AMD Phenom II 955 3.2Ghz
PNY GTX 580XLR8 Liquid gpu+CPU cooling(tubes fit tight)
60 Gb Corsair SSD
1 Tb seagate 7200
Kingwin Mach 1 1220 watt psu
The biggest issue was obviously the video card. I could still easily fit a second. But it clears the center bar of the case by barely anything. Practically touching. The water cooling hoses barely fit with the side panel on without kinking. Thankfully. This is all me, not the case.
As a second other thought. I do not like the new look of Newegg. The shop thing is fine, But the search is frustrating.
Pros: This is my first case, and it is simply awesome. The open design is fantastic and keeps the internals super cool as a result as well as allowing you to see all your LEDs and setup. The toolbox is great for holding all your spare/extra screws and stuff. The floating drive setup is great for keeping your drives quiet.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Anyone that is complaining about there not being any screws and what not is just ignorant, there is a toolbox at the bottom of the case that has all the needed equipment in it.
Pros: Outside of a custom design, this case is about as close as you can get to fully customizable.
