Question 1

Does this case actually come with fans? Not sure based on the wording. If it does, does it come with fans for each of the slots the case claims it has slots available to put a fan into?

Yes, this tower comes with a total of 4 fans, as listed in the "Specifications" tab. For reference, I've also pasted them here:

Rear (exhaust):
140 x 140 x 25 mm Turbo fan (1000rpm, 16dBA) x 1

Top (exhaust):
200 x 200 x 30 mm fan (600~800rpm, 13~15dBA) x 1

Front (intake):

Question 2

How is the noise level on low and high with the stock fans? I'm pretty set on buying this case to get away from my noisy Antec 1200, I just want to make sure it will actually be quieter.

I have to tell you that this fans are extremely quiet, even at hi speed. And in this case you can fit anything you throw at it.
I'm very happy with this case...

Question 3

Is it possible to fit a 540 (180X3) rad in the top?

I don't think so.  If you go to the website, there is a breakdown of what sizes of radiators you can put inside.  It says a 420 mm single is the biggest one you can put in the top.  There are lots of options, but the 540 one isn't there.  You can put them all over.  Top, Front, Bottom and Back.  Shouldn't be a problem keeping that system cool!

Question 4

If I wanted to install some 5in3 drive cages in this case, how many could I put in?  I'm sure I could install at least 3, but I would want 4.  Would they fit?

It comes stock with 8 hard drive bays already there and 2 up top for optical, or whatever.  Mine is used for an audio/video workstation in my studio, so I have 50 or more hard drives around all the time.  I have 5 in the tower that stay there, but what I did (because I don't want all those client's hard drives running all the time) was install an Icy Dock in one of the open slots so I can swap out drives to my hearts content.  You never use all those hard drives at the same time anyway, right?  I bought all the extra fans and run the thing on Lo all the time .  Can't even hear it in the studio.  Temperature never varies.  Out of ALL the computers I've used AND built over the last 30 years, this is the best case I've ever bought!

Would this case be suitable for a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 EATX motherboard with a NZXT Kraken X61 280mm liquid cooler ?

Hi, Tim:  First, I love this case!  Probably the best case I've ever owned.  Out of 30+ cases over my computer life.  I use it for an Audio, Video Workstation in my studio.  Using the full complement of fans (8), I can't hardly hear it running.  Amazing!  The case is built to accommodate all kinds of cooling systems.  The top will go up to 200mm fans, so the twin 140's in the NZXT should work fine.  You can put the radiator in the bottom, also. (make sure you have adequate air space under the case)  It will accommodate 140's down there.  If you put the radiator in the bottom, you can still use 4 200mm fans in the front and top.  (you'll have to buy 1 more. It only comes with 3. Because of the way they hook up, make sure it's the exact same model.)  Size wise, I can't imagine a motherboard so big it won't fit in the T81.  It's like working under the hood of a 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood.  You can almost crawl into the case with the motherboard!  All in all, I couldn't recommend a better case.  Good luck.

Does this case have the same hdd mounting on the back of the rack as the core v71?

No. And the T81 felt flimsy and cheap. I returned it and got the core v71 which was alot better
