is this case tall enough to take an internal modem card?

All in all, i would say this is a very tight case, even if just fitting common components. I went with a mobo with onboard wifi, an amd apu processor for cpu and graphics, sdd, and no had to go without disc drive for air flow. I love the case, but if you are planning on stacking cards in it, or adding anything but essentials, you will find it difficult to assemble while maintaining airflow for cooling. Case is not very tall, abot 6", and you have to consider that there are some mounting brackets that may be in your way.
