DIYPC Ranger-R8-G Black/Green MidTower ATX PC Case 6/17/2020 8:28:55 AM

Pros: Came with all the fans that are surprisingly quiet and a couple have green LEDs.
Everything fit inside with no problems at all.
No sharp edges.
Great price.
My 6yr old son loves it.

Cons: Kind of thin or flimsy but not bad.

Overall Review: I got this for my sons first gaming computer. He picked it out and loves it. It arrived promptly and was ready to build. It's a cheaper case but i think a great value for the price. I have an old case and wouldnt mind a blue case like this with no tank decals. overall i would buy one again.

Not a Happy Camper... 5/27/2020 8:13:02 AM

Pros: There's not a lot of positive things I can say. I have bought this modestly priced gaming computer case (Yellow accent) in the past, and was satisfied with it's accessibility, general construction, and the fact it had three factory installed 120 mm fans... one front, one rear, and one side providing good case circulation and cooling without the need for additional fans. This computer case being reviewed is the green version. It has a nice side panel window with a fan as mentioned before. It comes with motherboard screws, extra standoffs in addition to the ones already installed in the case, screws for mounting DVDs, HDDs, and SSDs (within a adapter bracket, of course), and a few sharp pointed metal screws. An audio speaker is also included for the motherboard. It also has a consistent black paint job, inside and out, and a youthful flashy Tank design on the left side of case that may appeal to young computer users... onto the Cons...

Cons: After partially assembling components inside this case, I found that the front panel ribbon cable HD Audio plug and the USB 2.0 plug were both damaged. NOT HAPPY AT THIS POINT! The plastic on the plugs was melted as if someone had used a soldering iron on them. The USB plug was rendered completely useless because the pin holes on the end were blocked with melted over plastic. The HD Audio plug was damaged, but I was still able to be plugged into the HD Audio Port on the sound card. Weather or not it works, I don't know since I wasn't able to complete the build. The coating on a couple of individual wires by the USB 2.0 plug were also melted away exposing raw wire as well. Either someone at the manufacturing facility came in with a bad attitude the day this box was being assembled or the ribbon cable being installed was not inspected before installation that may have come from a supplier in that condition. I don't know how this could happen otherwise. It was either intentionally damaged or a case of gross negligence in the manufacturing process or quality control. I will be getting a RMA and returning this computer case back to Newegg immediately.

Overall Review: I would still recommend this computer case for anyone interested in building a computer on a modest budget. I feel like I got a lemon as they say because of the defective front panel ribbon cable plug damage rendered the computer case useless. Better quality control at the factory could have prevented this product from going out the door. I would be a little hesitant to purchase this product again after what has occurred, but it's price, design, and construction still warrant serious consideration for a modestly priced computer build. This kind of flawed product does not enhance a company's reputation. I'm upset because of the time and effort lost in attempting to nor only build this computer, but the hassle of sending it back for a replacement.

can't even install the motherboard stand=offs 2/23/2020 6:35:00 PM

Pros: cheap

Cons: the supplied stand-offs will not even fit in the case which makes it impossible to install the motherboard

Overall Review: just wish I would have known this as I did not open and use it until after the return period (my fault)

Decent case for the money 2/4/2020 7:50:13 AM

Pros: Nice look and feel.
Lights are not too bright or to dim
Lots of room to work
Front panel simple to remove.
Ok cable management
Good space for SSD and Hard drives.
Basement Power supply feature

Cons: Single 3.0 on the front panel.
Front IO cables seem a little short for proper cable management
Lack of option for AIO Radiator mounting
Side panels seem a bit flimsy
Tool less lockers seem a bit tight on some, loose on others.
No Fan Filters
Lack of mounting hardware.

Overall Review: Over all it’s a good case for a quick build or if you are planning on putting it beside or under the desk. Not the best option for a display piece. When I first received the case It was undamaged and showed no signs of being mishandled. Mounting of the motherboard was simple, however I did notice I was short a couple of mounting posts for the MB. I fortunately had some on hand so it was not a big deal. However, for someone who doesn’t have a bunch of mounting hardware sitting around, it could be a problem.

The Front panel snaps off. With a little bit of coaxing with a flat blade plastic pry tool. There are small notches to allow better access and less marring of the front panel. The wires for the front panel where not tied back. So have zip ties or velcro on hand for your cable management. Running the cables where you want them can create and issue. Especially if your USB or audio headers at toward the back of the MB. The wires will not be long enough to make the run. The audio headers where even a close call with a direct run for the board I choose.

Mounting of the Blueray drive went smooth for the most part. When I first removed the tool less locker. I didn’t see how tight it was. I had to try a couple of the lockers until I found one that fit properly with the drive in place. This could have been a problem if I had multiple devices that filled the 5.25 drive bays.

The power supply fit perfectly. I had the EVGA 750 semi modular power supply. All the mounting screws lined up. No forcing or pushing to make it work line some other cases I have used in the past.

Air flow was respectable. The stock fans move air very well through the case. With a stock CPU cooler and video card. The temps stay within a non-worrisome over heating range. If you plan to use an AIO solution for your Cooling, I suggest getting a different case as there is really no good place to mount the radiator for the AIO.

Over all I would purchase this case again for a cheap build or something just to hold the internal parts that I don’t plan to use for a display piece. Good solid case with good options.
