What kind of power supply will fit in this? The options for MicroATX PSU's do not seem too good.

Accepted Answer

This uses a standard ATX PSU. mATX is just the motherboard compatibility. I've built with two of these cases and have been quite impressed.

This case supports both intel and amd motherboards in the micro-atx formfactor.

can i fit a 120mm liquid cooler in here?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Either on the single top 120mm mount, or on the rear 120mm mount. However if you opt to mount it on the top, taking off the cover from the roof of the case is quite the task that required vice grips to get the pressure clamps out.

Could you turn off the blue lights on the fans?

The lights are integral to the fans and I never saw a fan where you turn the lights off (although I have seen mods to fans to do so.)  Definitely no switches on these. But people do snip the LED wires on the fan to disable them forever. Generally you can see a specific wire or wires for the LEDs running along the spokes to the the center. Just don't cut any wires to the power plug! The LEDs are liable to be in series, which would need only one wire cut. Check the Internet for how-tos.

Does this have hdmi?

HDMI comes with motherboard that you choose. The case will accept any MicroATX motherboard you choose with either with HDMI, Display Port, VGA or DVI video outputs or all combined.

Question 6

My son just recently purchased this case but we can't seem to connect a 3rd fan at the top as the picture shows. Is this a custom job, can the top panel be removed somehow or is this just for for show? Please help. He bought 2 additional fans as the description says it allows. Thank you

I did install a top fan. There is a grid-opening and screw holes for one fan in the metal under the plastic top. The plastic top is pried off at the point where it joins tightly to the metal case.  You need a thin blade like a scraper to get a start. It is probably easier if you take the front and two sides off first. It you start prying at the front, with the front piece off, you can get a start without marring any plastic that is visible. It is common for these kind of plastic parts to snap on with plastic studs that are molded onto the piece. The studs have a bulge at the end and a split that compresses as it goes through the holes in the metal case. They can be hard to get off, feeling like you will break something, so take it easy, working gradually all the way around. Once I take off something like this I rub some bar soap on the studs, so it won't be so hard the next time. It is nicely made case for such a low price.

This may be a stupid question but does it have a place to put an IO Shield or is it stuck with 1 usb 3.0 and 1 usb 2.0 as it says in the Specifications?

It accepts a normal ATX / mATX motherboard IO shield on the rear, thus nothing is sacrificed by the addition of chassis-integrated connectors (they are attached to a wire inside the chassis which you plug into any 4/5 pin on-board USB 2.0 header. The USB 3.0 port is a single port however, so its possible that in connecting that you wiill waste one on-board USB 3.0 internal port, as USB 3 on board headers have classically been in a pair of ports, with one being a lightly different pinout than the other (the power pin I believe). Still I use the top panel ports extenwsively for hooking up /testing game controllers, USB WIFI adapters and so forth. As always, for very high-current peripherals (like external hard drive enclosures without external 5v power, you will usually want to plug its cable directly into the rear ports as they are soldered to the motherboard and hence no voltage drop along thin long internal extension wires. The included fans are a neat purple btw, not the flourescent blue like most fans, and the power supply gets its air from outside the chassis instead of preheated chassis air, drastically reducing or eliminating the need for the PSU fan to spin at high rpm (or at all). will this support the cooler master 212 evo? I'm worried because it is a very close fit by the values.

Yes, but barely. Worked well for the budget build, but looked slightly strange being that close.

Is there bottom ventilation for psu fans?

Yes there is a bottom fan opening and filter for the PSU.
