So this certainly resembles the Define R5. I have been debating between the two. They are so similar. I think I like this one a little more and it's cheaper. I don't mind paying extra if it means I'm getting a better product though. Can anyone speak into this?

The case is incredibly affordable for it's feature set. It is basically a poor man's Fractal Design Define/Corsair 330R/.

The Silence is all steel and plastic (as far as I can tell) and thus quite heavy. The feet have a ridiculous shape but they are functional in that they provide proper clearance for the bottom and front intake fans. The front door does a good job of blocking noise but its weight prevents from staying closed at times (weak magnets). A simple fan controller is included next to the front two intake fans.

Internally, the side panels are covered with some kind of vibration absorbing material (doesn't appear to be foam). The guts are laid out in a fashion that reminds me of some higher-end Phanteks and NZXT cases, but I'm not sure exactly how large of a WC setup you could fit inside. The PSU cowl at the bottom is a nice touch and conceals some extra storage options. There's mounts for SSDs behind the motherboard tray. Cable clutter might be an issue, due to the lack of through-hole gaskets and layout.

When on sale, it's the best quiet case Newegg sells. There are many better options available if you manage to save a few more dollars.

Can the door hinge side be reversed?

No. There is no space to attach the hinges on the other side.

Is the hard drive cage able to adjust position or turn?  I'm concerned that the sata power connector wouldn't have enough room.

The hard drive case is below hidden near the psu. It doesn't adjust. But it did have plenty of room. Just make sure u have Sata cables with right angles on one end. The cage only holds 2 standard hard drives unless u get adapters to double it. Your ssd's mount flush on the top right. Make sure you have flat Sata cables and psu hook ups. It is a nice case from DIY. It's just like a fractal r5 just a little different. Hope that helps you

First question: How deep is the texture on the front panel? Could it be sanded smooth?
Second question: How sturdy are the sidewalls? Lots of flex? Relatively stiff?

Case is just like the r5 fractal. I was surprised the case is very stiff and well built for the price. Has foam on the sides for sound damping. If you want to mod the paint job it could be easily sanded.

How many USB 2.0 headers does this case have for the motherboard? Is it one for both the SD card reader and the USB ports, or are there two separate USB 2.0 motherboard headers?

It has USB 2.0 Headers, USB 3.0 Headers, and a card reader that uses USB 2.0 Headers. So two separate USB 2.0, and 1 USB 3.0.

Question 7

The case specifications state that it supports E-ATX, but I can't tell if it supports full SSI-EEB (Dual Socket Motherboard) boards. Are there any owners that can confirm whether this case can mount one?

I did a build in one.I put a full atx board in it.I don't recall if it holds a SSI-EEB.only had hold downs for mini-itx,micro,e--atx and full atx.Hope that helps a little.You can email DIY,there pretty good about responding back pretty quick.

There is a dust filter for the PSU underneath the case.

it is, however, not easy to remove and re install.

You can connect 5 case fans to the controller.
The controller is basically 2 controllers. One slide-switch connects to 2 (intake usually), and the other to 3 (exhaust usually)
