Does the package include anything other than adapter and paperwork? I am wondering if there are any additional cables that come with it, or will be required to purchased to get this to work with my thinkpad t410 (with which it is perfectly compatible).

As best I can remember, the adapter was the only hardware in the box. You just put a hard disk into the adapter, put it in the bay, and you have a second hard disk in your computer. No cables, no power supply, nothing else needed. Works perfectly for me.
