I have an older cnc machine that has a printer port to pull data from for viewing or back up, currently we are using a Fujisoku 38-Pin SRAM card and adapter to pull and store this information is it possible to us this adapter with a usb drive to accomplish the same thing?

I have a HP 5l Extra I wanted to use with a newer computer. The cable didn't work. I ended up having to use a different printer HP 1606dn with this computer. This is a shared printer. The 5L would have been a dedicated printer. The cable sits in my collection of maybe I'll find a use for it someday, but not today pile.
