Does the heatsink get in the way of the graphics card? It looks like it sticks up quite a bit.

Which heatsink? None of the heatsinks interfere with the video cards I have (Asus 980 ti). The only thing that is a little odd is the placement of one of the HAMP point (fan header) is along the same line as the top graphic card slot so you have to make sure the wires don't get crimped if using that point.

I don't see an I/O shield in the picture. Is this different somehow from other boards in that it doesn't need one or something?

Yes it's built in, all you have to do is put the mobo into your case. :)

can you system boot off the m.2 drives?

Not sure about that I know you can with usb 2.x3.0 I wouldn’t see the issue why not

Yes it'll fit just fine. ATX Mobo/ATX Case just about all would work. There should be plenty of space. In fact that case will even for E-ATX motherboards (which are even bigger. Also seems you can fit just about any top shelf graphics card in that case too. Definitely the Maximus X

Can the dual m.2 slots be setup in a raid 0 configuration? I don't see it anywhere in the documentation.

Yes. Page 4-2 of the manual. Follow all the steps in section 4.1.3 . Make sure to enable PCIE Storage RAID Support items.

I got this board saturday and after watching Buildzoids video about memory i decided to tweak my timings, but only saw 3 primary timings in the bios? I know there are supposed to be 4.

All memory timings are available. The BIOS needs to be in Advanced mode to access them.
