Pros: Ran my 10700kf at 82nd percentile on UserBenchmark. Ran my RAM at 87th percentile on UserBenchmark TPM 2.0 can be enabled for Win11 in bios M.2 ssd works well.
Cons: No hardware TPM
Overall Review: Writing review because I was just figuring out win11 install. Even though there is no hardware TPM, you can enable Intel PTT in BIOS - Restart, hold/press delete to enter bios setup. Go to advanced settings, advanced tab, "PCH-FW Configuration" and Enable.
Overall Review: I upgraded to this motherboard and new parts and was excited to finally have an M.2. I installed windows and drivers. Then I encountered an issue. No matter what I did, I could not get my pc connected to the internet via ethernet port, and I do no have a WiFi adapter available. I tried using the Disc that came with the motherboard. All drivers installed successfully except for the ethernet drivers that would not install whatsoever. I tried using a different pc to download drivers online and move them over. This would not work either. Upon doing some reseach, I discovered that a large portion of users encountered this problem with this motherboard. Apparently it is widespread enough that users are outraged that there hasnt been a recall. Intel has even acknowledged this issue, but no solution has been proposed. For the folk that were not completely blocked from using ethernet, it is a common problem that the motherboard can cause lag and packet loss. Luckily I was able to pick up a network adapter for cheap, and that completely solved my issue. I urge all folks reading this to research network problems on this Asus Z490-A board. This is not a rare happening. This is not user error. This is a chronic error with this board. I would rate 0 if I could, and I would not have purchased this motherboard had I known the extent of its problems.
Pros: -Good features -Excellent aesthetic design -Nice BIOS -Positive customer support experience
Cons: -Audio died on me in less than a month -Only one pcie 3.0 x16 slot (tested other two, can confirm) -Main M.2 slot is directly under only pcie 3.0 x16 slot, which will heatblast your m.2 drive
Overall Review: For some reason I can't edit the rating on this, but it's definitely a 3/5. I'm taking off 1 egg for the questionable main m.2 drive placement combined with the sole pcie 3.0 x16 slot, and another egg for my audio dying on me in literally less than a month. Even after contacting Asus for troubleshooting help (all steps which I already tried), they suggested I RMA the board. Quite a shame, I'd honestly put it at 4.5/5 otherwise.
Pros: Looks good
Cons: I ordered 3 of these MBs for builds for a friends company. All 3 have the same problems. 1. Ethernet Jack is worthless. It barely gets 50MB/s while the computer next to it is at 400mb/s. Tried everything, swapping cables, ports, drivers, even brought in an outside IT firm. Checked the other 2 computers, same issue. These are stock trader computers, so the slow network connection makes them worthless. 2. Wont keep a camera installed. During video conferencing, the camera drivers will randomly get corrupted and the camera goes offline, then.a restart and new drivers are required. Going to need to return all 3 boards and rebuild 3 computers because of this...
Overall Review: No
Pros: TBH I didn't even crack the box, because I went for the Z590 to future proof for 11th gen.
Cons: n/A
Overall Review: RMA was painless.
Cons: When updating drivers puts my computer into a restart loop just started happening. Been working to try and find a fix for a week now ended up resetting everything. Waiting to see if this fixes the issues.
Overall Review: Nice looking board but the frustration is not worth it.
Overall Review: Would recommend.
Overall Review: Like many other people complaining about the ethernet port not working. Yup, the Intel ethernet controller I225-v simply doesn't function. Try many hours fixing it, updating driver, flesh hardware but no avail. I have to spend extra dollar on an ethernet adapter. Very disappointed.
