Pros: Excellent MB... has 3 choices of RAID controllers... 2 on Jmicron, 2 on Silicon, and 6 on intel RAID matrix. Has all the makings of a light duty server or an extremely nice A/V rig. Easy to configure and to overclock. I have run both the E6600 and the E4300 CPU's on this board and it does very well with either. The E4300 had actually the most impressive performance gain in overclocking.

Cons: It can be a little picky about RAM... Also I had one board which failed in the PCI controller for the Jmicron RAID and would not allow a bootup after 2 weeks of use... but I think this was just an isolated incident, and I didn't devalue the rating, because NewEgg RMA'd the board in reasonable time and I have not had another incident with any of the other boards or the replacement.

Overall Review: I recommend checking the bios revision to see if it is up to date with the latest and flashing it if it isn't. remember to clear the CMOS with the jumper next to the battery before rebooting. One issue that is worthy of note, and not a negative if you know about it... Be warned... use an old fashioned ps2 keyboard and mouse while setting up the MB for the first time... there is a point in time when the posting will drop the USB support, just before you get to the screen options to hit your Cntrl+J or Cntrl+I for setting up your RAID disks. If you use a USB supported keyboard, you will never be able to access the RAID setup utility during the boot posting. Again... you have to use a ps2 keyboard... period!

Pros: Nine SATA ports! Six are provided by the P965 chipset, two more from the JMicron controller, and one more from the SiI controller. The six Intel SATA ports default to legacy ICH5 mode (called "IDE" mode in the BIOS) for backward compatibility, but for a new system you'll probably want to switch to AHCI mode for performance -- especially if you run Linux, where AHCI also brings full NCQ and hotplug support. The 1.6 BIOS adds AHCI support to the JMicron controller too. I like the fact that this board has no legacy serial or parallel ports, instead using the space on the back panel for eSATA and optical S/PDIF input and output. Nine SATA cables are included in the box, along with one PATA and one floppy cable, so you don't need to worry about whether your drives come with cables. On the newer revisions of this board, the PCIe x16 slot's retainer latch uses a new side-mounted design that I haven't seen before. It makes it much easier to remove the card when doing maintenance.

Cons: The BIOS setup screen has a pink background, rather than the usual blue. It's ugly; I have no idea why they thought this was a good idea. The built-in Realtek 8169 gigabit Ethernet controllers only support "jumbo frames" up to 7000 bytes, rather than 9000 like some devices do. This is is a bit of a pain since all devices on an Ethernet segment need to be configured for the same maximum frame size, but in practice it doesn't really matter since many devices don't support jumbo frames at all so most networks still use 1500 as the limit. With Linux kernel 2.6.18, the built-in sound chip has its channels mixed up -- the mixer controls for "left", "right", "rear", etc. don't actually control the speakers they say they do. I've been told that 2.6.20 doesn't have this issue. But I keep them all set to the same level anyway so it doesn't really matter to me.

Overall Review: I'm using this board with a Core 2 Duo E6600, 2x1GB G.SKILL RAM, XFX GeForce 7600GS, three Seagate 750GB hard drives (SATA), and one Lite-On SH-16A7S DVD burner (also SATA), running a modern Linux system (Debian "sid"). All the hardware, both built into the motherboard and installed by me, is recognized by Linux and works fine.

Pros: Lots of features.

Cons: Very buggy bios (the infamouse "2A" POST code), and ABIT won't even acknowledge that there's a problem.

Overall Review: Because of their poor customer support, I'd avoid ABIT entirely.

Pros: Every thing fired up on the first boot. Very easy set up,raid was easy as well. I am using both the Intel and JMicron Raid controllers. Intel Raid 5 JMicron Raid 1. Bios has alot of common sense features as well as OCing features, Example is you are able to select right in the Bios which Raid controller you want to be you primary boot HDD. Any issues I did have were easy to fix, such as buying a longer IDE cable, memory voltage, and anyone that has loaded windows Before Knows as soon as it starts it askes to press F6 for raid controller drivers.

Cons: Not really cons but had to set DDR@ voltages, and IDE is in a Bad place(but that is due to the Fact that the IDE controler is the JMicron controller and had to be placed next to the SATA ports)

Pros: Excellent ATX layout. Plenty of clearance around the LGA775 socket to put in most any CPU cooler. Tons of USB and SATA headers. More onboard fan control than you can shake a stick at. User friendly software for overclocking and system monitoring. Tons of RAID support. Built in Port 80 readout. Unique color scheme. Full BIOS functions for everything. Lots of bang for the buck on this one folks.

Cons: EIDE/IDE headers in kind of a bad spot, if you still use that type of connection. Onboard 7.1 sound isn't bad, but could sound better. BIOS screen is PINK.(LOL) Layout is unique, may frustrate some people. If you DO need to update the BIOS, you need to have a floppy drive. I just don't understand why companies are still holding on to that archaic media. this is not an SLI board, only on PCIex16 slot.

Overall Review: (Second Review) Outstanding board. While there has been BIOS issues and RAM compatibility issues in the past (Read: when it first came out...) this is no longer true. Board I purchased from this site had most recent BIOS already on it. I put this board in a Raidmax Smilodon case with no problem. When I installed the EVGA 8800GTS 320 Vid card on it, it was a really tight fit.(only 1/4 inch clearance!!!) although this isn't so much an issue with the mobo, the PCIex16 slot location makes it intersting...

Pros: The usual, 10 SATA, 2 gigabit LAN, SPDIF, etc...

Cons: This board is too much hassle. You have to constanly reset things, pull jumpers off, play in the BIOS, update it, tweak. It is here and there, but just gets to be so tiring. If you want a board that just works, look elsewhere!

Overall Review: I wish this board was stable! Spec wise, it is a truly awesome board! Do as I didn't do... READ THE REVIEWS FIRST! Don't let the specs sell you on this board!

Pros: Had no problems with board whatsoever! Easy to install. Easy to set up. Uguru works perfectly! Recognized memory correctly and at the correct speed! Look for it to work for years to come, just as my other Abit motherboards have!

Cons: If I have to find something wrong with the board. I could nitpick about the VERY minor buzz in the onboard sound, but since I have a Soundblaster Audigy card, I think I will just disable the onboard sound and still be extremely pleased with the motherboard.

Overall Review: I am very convinced that those who gave this board a 1 rating, probably had problems with other boards that they tried to set up, because of lack of understanding of how to set up a motherboard. Or they just didn't pay attention to the BIOS set up!

Pros: Great MB. Tons of SATA, 6 SATA connections for ICH8R which allows for all 6 drives to be used in RAID 5! Or just 4 in RAID 0. BIOS shipped was 1.5 which supports Core2Duo right out of the box. No upgrade required however, should update the BIOS to 1.6 as soon as possible for better stability and additional CPU support(Quad Core's).

Cons: No COM port. If you have devices connected via the Serial Port, you will need to buy an addin card. The ONLY PATA support is throught JMicro JM363 controller. Which allows 2 IDE devices to be connected. The location of both the PATA and Floppy connectors are at the PCI expansion slots, #3 and #6 respectively which means if you use the JM363 PATA, your cable will stretch across your entire MB.

Overall Review: This is my first Abit board in a few years and I am not disappointed! The lack of a COM port is a Minor Negative. The BIOS can be hard to set up if you are unfamiliar with setting up additional controllers.
