GIGABYTE GA-G33M-S2L LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This board performs very well. I haven't bothered benchmarking it for comparisons, but it handles my Q6600 and Corsair PC2-6400 ram at 5-5-5-12 just fine, without any bios update. Had to use CTRL-F1 on bios main screen to manually set the ram timing properly. No big deal. The Realtek HD Audio is excellent, it's rich and warm. Huge improvement over my original Audigy, which I no longer use. I'll be adding the XFX 8800GT 512meg card sometime in the next few months. Until then, the onboard video will do. 6 rear USB ports, plus 3 headers for 12 USB ports total Gigabit ethernet Flawless legacy IDE(PATA)/floppy support, no conflicts with SATA SPDIF and front panel audio headers

Cons: Only 2 fan headers, but I knew that before I bought it. All of the capacitors are electrolitic, except the ones around the CPU socket, those are solid state. Intel GMA3100 onboard video isn't the best. It supports Pixel Shader 3.0, according to Intel, but games that require it only detect PS 2.0 and many games simply don't support GMA3100 at all, so they won't run. Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Crysis and Bioshock won't run at all. GMA3100 is capable of running all 3 games, but the games simply don't support the chipset, so they won't run. Hellgate London runs decent though.

Overall Review: Solid board, even if you want to overclock a bit, which I don't do. Good feature set for a mATX board. Good price. If it weren't for the lack of game support for the GMA3100 video, I would have rated this product a 5. This is my first Gigabyte product, and I love it.

Pros: Boots E8400 Wolfdale right out of the box - BIOS date 11/27/07. Gigabyte still seem to have good build quality - clean layer edges, tracks and soldering. Uses DDR2 800 which is far cheaper and performance is still excellent. SATA cables come with locking clips. 3 x ext USB connectors and 6 USB already on rear. NIC really overperforms on 100MB switch. This board runs real quick with no OC !

Cons: ICH9 drivers in Vista and on driver CD not totally right - but this is so minor it's barely wort mentioning, as a quick download fixes this up in 5 mins.

Overall Review: Haven't used a Gigabyte board since 1998 but on this showing I will be buying lots more - this is lower end in some ways but it's flying even with Vista Ultimate using the onboard video. E8400 Wolfdale, 4GB A-Data DDR2-800, Western Dig 250GB SATA II - nothing flashy but it's scoring in the 5+'s on the Vista system assessment except for the graphics (3.5) and hey they're onboard. I think this board may be very hard to beat at the price. If you want to upgrade your gear get yourself a whole new flying machine for around $500! :-)

Pros: Very nice layout, easy to use Bios, updated bios to newest version before I got it for once lol. No problem booting right up very smooth install on 2nd one :)

Cons: First one Blue screened non-stop but newegg replaced np. Audio headers for front speaker/mic would be btter towards the other end of board. Capacitors next to and under CPU cooler are a little high, my CPU cooler is touching the tops.

Overall Review: For a micro ATX set-up I wouldn't go for any other board right now. The Asus tend to use more power for some reason and the Intel boards are being RMAed at an alarming rate. I advise this one without hesitation. And if you count the RMAed first board this is my 100th PC build lol

Pros: One runs my E6850 4Gb RAM, the other runs my Q9450 4Gb RAM. No problems of ANY kind. I will be buying a third for my E6600.

Cons: There aren't any. This is a great board. You want Firewire? Buy a card for it. You wanna run SLI, pay $250+ for a board. This is a good, honest, compact, hard-working board...and anyone who can find a con is just stretching. Yeah, a humongous video card will obscure a SATA slot or two...you want more SATA? Buy an add-on card.

Overall Review: A lot of people seem to think they should get a $400 board for $59. You see what the specs say, right? If you like what you see, buy it. If you don't, quit posting garbage that says more about your lack of computer savvy than it does about this product! I have had it with the lame sniping that goes on on these boards. If you have something to say, just say it...and leave the hyperbole in your ditty bag!

Pros: My first board was bad - Newegg completed a painless RMA. My second board has been running 24/7 overclocked to 1333MHz FSB with a quad-core and is perfectly stable. The rebuild was a non event thanks to the handy Gigabyte XpressRecovery utility.

Overall Review: For most people, the G33 offers very little advantage over a G31 chipset yet comes with a large price difference. Check the specs carefully - most premium manufacturers like Gigabyte tweak the G31 version to equal the performance of the G33 version, leaving a few minor feature differences to justify a large cost difference. If I had to do this over again, I would have gone with the Gigabyte G31 version as a better value proposition.

Pros: lpt and serial is nice (for CAM), everything seems to function correctly (not one problem), impressive OC performance, good onboard graphics, I don't know about games, but for business and industrial purposes it'd be hard to find a better micro atx.

Cons: no raid functionality

Overall Review: runs stock E6750 + DDR2 800 at 3.5 ghz stable with no tweaking required, I'd say this board is a good choice for both first time builders and enthusiasts (excluding whether the instructions, CD and drivers are any good or not, I did not use any of that), the micro atx form factor is so much nicer than full size, notwithstanding how large graphics cards would extend right over top of two sata ports, 8600gt fits fine

Pros: This is a great little mobo for overclocking,i put in a in intel 3.0ghz processor and i have it OC'd to 4.0ghz without a hiccup

Cons: only 1 pci-e slot.if you put a videocard lets say an nvidia 8800OC 512 it covers all the sata slots

Overall Review: a big videocard takes up the whole mobo.you get left with 1 pci slot and a hard time getting hooking up sata cables,you'll have to take out the video card and put it back in each time..but for me thats no big deal awesome for OCing

Pros: Easily beats out the high speced Foxconn that I purchased last year. Everything worked right out of the box. One of the best mid-range matx boards out there. It's compatible with everything I have.
