Pros: The board installed easily and worked well until the sound went and other issues made the board unusable

Cons: Getting support form Gigabyte is difficult. The board died soon after the 30 day return from new egg, so I've made contact with Gigabyte and their support is null. I can understand boards that fail, and if Gigabyte had even responded to my emails and said here is how to get it replaced I would not be writing a negative review on this board

Overall Review: Gigabyte customer service is bad, I'd suggest u look at another manufacturer

Pros: It's a motherboard that works. It works with my Intel Q9400 and OCZ PC2-6400 Gold 8GB Quad Kit.

Cons: The motherboard comes with a "Crazy Cool" which is heatsink that goes on the opposite side of where the CPU is. I followed the instruction to install the CPU first. In fact you need to install the "Crazy Cool" because the CPU is covering one of the screw for the heatsink.

Overall Review: You need to get the latest bios from the manufacturer website in order to take advantage of Intel VT. Once you flash bios the VT option will appear in the setting.

Pros: Well I have to admit I first had a problem with a brand new EX38 board I had to RMA to gigabyte. It just up and died about 1 hour after I had it running and making changes in bios then quit and went into this restart mode like it couldnt detect my ram or cpu???? Anyway gigabyte tech support does the best they can and I'll wait and see how the rma new board comes back. In meantime I bought this X48 board. So first off I use the GSkill 1066 4GB kits that Newegg has for almost half what I paid several months ago. I am running win vista64bit with 8GB of the GSkil ram 4x2GB dual channel sticks. Everything is running like a champ and SPD worked great and got the memory set correctly on its own. So I think the board is great, what else to say. I think it has the most bang for buck of any boards I researched. I wanted the DDR2 ram support so that limited some of the newer boards from my list. Cost of the ram is cheaper. But in a couple months that will change too.

Cons: None really yet, knock wood. Gigabyte has a very slow rma department, no cross ship. Phone support is adaquet if you get a person that speaks fluent enough to understand. I actually asked to speak to another tech support on one call and got someone I could understand. They do answer the phone pretty quick though and try and call right when they open.

Overall Review: I am running win vista64bit, GSkill 1066 RAM 8GB, Q6700 w AC 7 Pro HS&F, twin Pioneer 112D burners, EVGA 9800GTX video I paid way too much for but what the heck, lifetime warranty. Twin Silverstone SST-ST60F PSU's in a Lian Li PC-A10 case. All running like a champ, knock wood. I left review on the GSkill as ram well so read that for more info. Thanks

Pros: Well laid out board. Got the crazycool bracket off and installed a Zalman 9700 no problem. Would have liked to have 1 or 2 eSata ports ACTUALLY on the mobo rather than as headers. Still, gotta love the tons of USB ports. Audio encodes to DTS 5.1; many current ASUS boards will not do that.

Cons: While the AUTO settings are nice for a quick overclock, they also set the CPU voltage a lot higher than it needs to be (common amongst mobos, not just this one). Manually overclock, adjusting FSB and MCH volts up a bit and then give your CPU just a little extra juice at a time.

Overall Review: Excellent overclocker. If you are trying to overclock, this mobo will NOT be what holds you back. Got my Q9450 to 3.6 GHz with +0.3 DDR2, +0.2 FSB, +0.25 MCH, and 1.3250 VCore. Plays well with 4x 2GG G.Skill PC2-8500 DDR2 and Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

Pros: Great board. Haven't had any problems with it yet. So far I have been able to get my Xeon X3360 @3.21ghz no problem. Comes well packaged.

Cons: 2 things. one is its a little bit overpriced in my opinion. Second thing I had to remove the crazycool heatsink otherwise I wouldn't have been able to install my thermalright-120 extreme. I found it a little bit tricky to remove it. After you unscrew the screws that are holding the crazy cool heatsink to the motherboard it comes off very easily. The problem is that you have to stick 2 screws through the northbridge holes on the back of the board. Then you have to flip the board over and screw 2 tops screws into the 2 bottom screws (this holds the heatsink in). But when you flip the board over the 2 bottom screws keep falling out and you have to figure out a way to hold the screw in and tighten the board at the same time without them falling out. It only took me about 15 minutes to get both screws in there and tightened them but I wish Gigabyte had an easier way of doing it.

Pros: Laid out nice.

Cons: After two boards, I still can't get dual-channel memory to work. Yes, I tried slot 1 & 3 and 2 & 4. I tried two sets of dual-channel memory (both on Gigabyte's list) Neither set would even get to the BIOS screen. The computer powers up, then after a couple of seconds powers down, then recycles. Both sets work fine in a different model Motherboard. If I put the memory in slot 1 it will boot to the BIOS screen. Same thing if I put the memory in slot 1 & 2. Of course it comes up single channel. I have Googled this problem and see that it is a problem with this board.

Overall Review: If anyone knows how to get dual-channel to work, please publish it. Before you come up with the obvious questions, please re-read what I have said and tried. Both (new) boards did the same thing.

Pros: I bought this board because it's certainly in the running for the top motherboards on the market today. While many complained that Intel's X48 chipset dropped DDR2 memory support it is clear that most vendors aren't ready for that yet, this board being one example. If you're looking for a very strong board to overclock with, you cannot go wrong with this one and its fantastic BIOS options.

Cons: There's an argument to be made that the X48 chipset provides nothing that the X38 chipset does not. Consult your local hardware review site before deciding if this effects you one way or another. If you're not overclocking then this board is way more juice than you'll ever need, you might as well save some money and get a more generic board or get the lower-end X48 model (DS4).

Pros: Nice Layout, Features. Newegg's service and shipping.

Cons: Continuious reboot, no post. Tech support is horrible, I sent them a e-mail and 4 days later still nothing. I had problems with Gigabyte before, but decided to give them another shot. I will never use this companies products again. Nothing but issues. I put a Intel DQ35JOE in and everything went smooth.

Overall Review: Do not use this company.
