GIGABYTE GA-P31-ES3G LGA 775 Intel P31 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: No troubles at all with this m/b. Running debian 5.03 linux with nvidia 7600 gt and 2 nvidia fx 5500 cards driving 6 lcd screens, 4 gb gskill mem and 2.66 ghz core 2 quad. It flys. Can't beat it for the price.

Pros: I owned GIGABYTPE GA-P35-DSL for 1.5 yrs and GA-P31-ES3G is as good as GA-P35-DSL, but cheaper. Why pay for more expensive P45/43 if you can do the same OC with P31 unless you want cross-fire or very high FSB(>500 Mhz). This board has the same BIOS and HSF as GA-P35-DSL. The BIOS allows you to change CPU, Memory, and FSB freq and more importantly voltages of CPU and memory. I recently transferred my 1.5 yrs old Dual Core E2610 @3.48 with stock air cooling from P35-DSL to this board. It still works at high OC level to my surprise. The only noticeble difference between P35-DSL and P31-ES3G board is that this board has only 2 DIMM slots vs. 4 DIMM slots of my P35-DSL. However, it has 3 PCI slots which is nice because most of P43/45 boards has too many PCI-E slots (never used by me), and only 2 PCI slots. Nice small form-factor board layout, 24-pins power connector is away from CPU.

Pros: Cheapest ATX Intel board on the Egg. 3 PCI-E x1 and 3 PCI slots which are well spaced, only lose 1 PCI-E slot with a double slot VGA card. Robust overclocking options including voltage controls for CPU, DDR2, FSB, PCI-E and northbridge. CPU multiplier control, memory multiplier adjustment, memory timings and speed controls and PCI-Express frequency are all options available to tweak. Sturdy, well made board, little to no flex when installing stock Intel HSF unlike other boards that you are afraid will snap in half. Shipped with F6 Bios, there is a newer beta F7a available, but I'll leave it to others to beta test, I'm getting too old for that. Overall it does everything I need it to do and is well within my budget.

Cons: Being narrower than many ATX boards, a monster heatsink with ram with tall heatspreaders may be a problem, in my case it is not an issue. x16 slot is not 2.0 spec, but I knew that and isn't even a problem with any but the most expensive of cards, if any at all.

Overall Review: E5200 @ 10*360 on 1.325v on stock Q6600 HSF. MSI 9800 GT 4GB Patriot Viper 4-4-4-12 @2.1v Ancient Enermax EG651 PS from like 2003

Pros: I have owned this motherboard since december and it has been very solid. I just recently overclocked my q6600 to 3.7ghz on air with this mobo (412mhz fsb, .3v fsb overvolt). I was surprised this mobo could reach that. I benchmarked at that speed and ran prime95 without problems. but for the most part, I run stock speeds. definately glad I got this mobo. very good for the price

Cons: not full size atx. NB heatsink can get pretty hot even without overclock

Overall Review: If you're a gamer on a budget or you just want to build a cheap system, you can't go wrong with this mobo imo. it's great!

Pros: Great board recognized everything immediately and booted right into ubuntu, no questions asked. No Frills board, perfect. Easy Bios

Cons: odd spot for IDE ribbon but since I am using all sata now, doesn't matter.

Wanted to make the switch to a true dualcore and this board worked perfect because of the price, and it will take a Q6600 when I want to go to quad.

Pros: A really painless motherboard with a, for the most part, simple BIOS. Gigabyte makes great motherboards for both the budget comsumer and the gamer/hardcore alike and this one is no exception. Working great with an older Pentium D 820, 2x2GB of GSkill PC8500, and an nVidia 6800 Ultra.

Cons: It's an odd shape but it fits perfectly into this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811166035 when a true full ATX motherboard might not fit so comfortably. I should know because that's the case I used for this particular build. :)

Overall Review: I killed a Dell and built another computer out of some of it's parts. Am I going to hell?

Pros: Cheap. Good quality. Worked great the first time I turned it on. Capable of supporting a good gaming system without spending alot of $$$.

Cons: No connection for front audio ports... not a huge deal really but hence the 4 eggs instead of 5. For the price I really can't complain.

It made a decent gaming rig for under $500! Also, it's a very cool running system. Decent bios. Not a great over-clocker but the capability IS available.

Pros: Dirt Cheap Worked out of the box Has all the essentials Great Bios

Overall Review: I'm really pleased with this board for the price. It's DIRT CHEAP for a economy board with a nice loaded bios. It has all the basics you need for a cheap system. Sure it could have firewire and more sata ports but really, if you are buying this board for the price it comes with exactly what it should. It's very stable, easy to setup, has dual bios incase you break something trying to overclock or whatever. I recommend this board if you are building a system for someone who doesn't need every bell and whistle (if they do, then I recommend the gigabyte x58 extreme board of course lol). This board does the job without any issues. I have a E5200 in it and I'm running opensuse 11.1 (64bit). With the following hardware I was up and running in under 3 hours from the time my parts came UPS. For under $400 I had a whole system (case, MB, ram, cpu, dvd reader, HD, video card) because this board was cheap. Perfect for a small linux server!
