GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3LR LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Plugged it in and it went. x16 slot is in the third position so larger video cards can clear drive mounting structures in older and smaller cases (but still - measure before you buy - it cut it within millimeters on my old model Antec Sonata.

Cons: Idiotic defaults for some BIOS settings - SATA defaults to legacy IDE emulation mode, which doesn't support NCQ or anything decent and useful about SATA. Remember to flip this setting before installing your OS.

Pros: Lots of ports, RAID options, good component layout, passive heatsinks and simple BIOS. Easy to setup and installs W7 RC1 with no driver conflicts right from the DVD.

Cons: It won't bake bread?

Pros: There's a reason why Google trusts Gigabyte products. Great quality. I don't know about the "Japanese Capacitors" and "2oz of copper" or anything being really useful/helpful. The price was good at the time and it supports my needs...

Cons: Guess it wasn't free...

Overall Review: Purchased the board for EFI-X use. :)

Pros: FAST. Easy to overclock RAID 0 babe!!! memory running 1066 without any problems. Easy to setup.

Cons: no firewire...

Overall Review: I had an asus p5kc... could not get the thing to pick up 1066 in the mem. so I upgraded to this mobo and no problems. Overclock in the gui is easy as 123.

Pros: This is a very nice board despite what others might say. If you need clearance, check the specs and do the math. I highly reccomend this board for bang for the buck builds. Gigabyte is the elite of the industry and at the top of their game. Very stable board with a lot of OC potential.

Pros: I'm not what you call nimble. I have had a few heart stopping slips of a screwdriver on this board and it runs like a champ with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400. Excellent.

Cons: Drops some drivers once. No problems after a fresh driver installation.

Overall Review: Bios update is a breeze, but not needed to run the newest chips that the board supports.

Pros: Works Greeat! Audio sounds good Came with bios F3, no problem flashing with USB to F5 Works with a $22 dolar worth of 2 Gb Kingston DDR2 800 memory and Intel QX6850 at 3.6 Ghz with Easy Tune 6 downloaded from Gigabyte web site. No issue installing drivers from CD Good Value Motherboard

Cons: It wont install using Windows XP Pro w/o Service Pack, it will give you BSoD. Was using a 160 Gb SATA HD I had to get Windows XP Pro SP3 and then installation went smooth

Pros: Supports 45nm processors

Cons: Check the length of cards you want to use with this board before buying. It's not obvious from the pictures, but the top two PCIe slots are useless for most cards.

Overall Review: I bought this board to put in place of a P35-DS4 board that I'm having problems with. Basically, that board have resume from sleep issues (including with use of the newest F13 BIOS update). Also, that board has clearance problems with the NB/SB heatsinks and the top PCIe slot. The heatsink is too wide and hits the PCIe board, making that slot useless! So, in comes EP45-UD3LR as a replacement. Well, the top TWO PCIe sots are useless. I wanted to put several Hauppauge 2250 tuner cards in my HTPC build, but unfortunately those cards are too long and interfere with the MEMORY installed in the machine! This board is shorter than the DS4, and the memory slots overlap the PCIe slots! If I use the PCIe slot on the opposite side of the video card, the tner card completely blocks the air intake to my HD4650 video card (same with my GeForce 8500GT card/cooler). This leaves ONE useable PCIe slot, which is TWO short of what I need! No more GB for me!
