GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R-SLI LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Do not listen to the reviewer below... This is a near perfect motherboard as is the Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Non SLI Version. First of all if your using windows applications to do your overclocking, you shouldn't be overclocking in the first place! The system BIOS is the only place one should adjusting timings and or increasing front side bus frequencies IMO. If your overclocking from within Windows using 3rd party OC applications, your just asking for problems! The BIOS on this board is excellent for OC and Offers complete control over virtually everything! I have built 10 machines with this motherboard, not one single defect or RMA. This board will detect any amount of RAM right out of the box. This board will enable SLI, detect a second video card right out of the box. This board will pick up any HDD or device connected to it! RAID Setup is a breeze! If your looking for a High Quality, High Performance, Hassle Free Motherboard.. This is your Ticket!

Overall Review: I am a system builder of 12 years... this mobo comes w/ my Highest recommendation! You may find a board with a lot more bling and possibly more features, but you'll have a hard time finding one that is as reliable!

Pros: They dude below me either does not own this board or is trying to install 2 x GTX 295's w/Gigantic Customized for Over-kill heatsinks... sheesh! I'm writing this review with a machine I have just built for a customer. I built his machine with this exact motherboard, the Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R-SLI. Right now I am running 2 x eVGA GTX 285 1GB Video Cards. Ummm... could somebody please tell me... How in "John Carmacks" name am I running SLI if this board doesn't support it?!?! Comon man... There are ppl here making decisions based on user reviews... The least you could do is make an honest effort to actually test the product you are reviewing before you go and say things like, "there's not room for two big Video cards." It's false statements like this that jip ppl out of saving a few bucks on a good SLI motherboard.

Pros: This is a great board if you have the patients to get it set up right. I had every issue listed in other reviews, (rebooting, slow boot, lan, auto voltages set way too high, and so on. But if you have a little knowledge or just take the time to read and learn from other reviews everything can be quickly remedied. It's a great price for a board that will do just about everything the big $ boys will do. I have had my i7 920 oc'd to 4.1 on air with temps w/in the suggested heat limits. Will also handle the vigor monsoon cooler and two 280gtx's (although see cons below). you honestly can't go wrong with this board. I gave it 4 eggs because of the extra work needed, but as far as overall quality and functionality, I couldn't be happier. As always Newegg is simply the best!!

Cons: No esata, only 4 mem slots. As stated above you can sli a couple big cards but it's the tightest fit I've ever seen. You would have trouble fitting a piece of paper between them and you can imagine the heat generated. You will need above average gpu cooling to make it worth your while. Smaller cards are no problem.

Overall Review: My specs: i7 920 oc'd 3.8 24/7 (hit 4.1, max stable) gskill 6 gig ddr3 1600 2 gtx 280 sli samsung 1TB drive vigor monsoon III Corsair 850w PS Raidmax smilodon (replacing w/ coolermaster rc 690, monsoon is too tight a fit.)

Pros: good board for the price considering most x58 boards cost about 3 bills. I like how this board looks. "Tons" of options in the bios. Good bundled software. I didn't have much money, and this seemed like the best board for the price. I like the bundled software it came with that gives a lot of control from within windows.

Cons: Ok, I had a few problems during installation, it boots slow at first. I don't like the defaults in bios. turbo mode turned on, and usb keyboard and mouse default is off. Also, When installing ram, I had to install one stick at a time, cuz when I installed 3 at first, it wouldn't recognize them. Not enough room above first pcie slot for my graphics card cooler, I had to use second slot. Bad placement of the pata cable right above the power and reset pins. Also, only one pata cable connector.

Overall Review: I read somewhere in a forum that you couldn't use a big card on this board cuz south bridge heatsink was too big, But thats not true- my 8800gtx cleared it just fine. it's low enough, even though it doesn't look like it in the pictures. Also, read about lan problems with crossfire ver. of this board, so far no problems with this board. Overall Review: I was having some issues double booting after I overclocked my i7-920 to 3.0 ghz. I flashed my bios to "f2" ver. and it was fixed. So far so good. No other problems.

Pros: Works perfectly, bios is easy and ready to overclock with no problems. Stays pretty cool, and has enough fan, LED, and SATA ports on the motherboard to satisfy most anyone.

Cons: If you want to SLI two large cards, you're going to have to get water cooling or something, because the OEM air intake will be like .5cm away from the bottom of the next card... at best.

Pros: Good motherboard, support SLI. Lots of SATA ports. Dual BIOS, and very easy to overclock. Good board layout.

Cons: Some SATA ports might get a little bit hard to reach when you have a very long video cards. Integrated sound cards quality is close for being rubbish.

Overall Review: It has dual RAID controller. Manual is a must to read. Purchase for a better sound card is recommended.

Pros: Gigabyte. They rock! Everything went together smoothly. Boot up fine. No problem so far.

Cons: not free :-)
