Is it a rare chance this board will be DOA?

It's always a possibility.  I build an entire system through Newegg last Fall.  All the parts were perfect and I got all the parts 2 days early! If your worried about Newegg, I wouldn't be.  They are top rate.

Is this board compatible with SSDs?

Accepted Answer

Your question is pretty broad. The answer depends on the particular model of an SSD you have in mind. SATA interface SSDs should work fine with this motherboard.
I'm running this board with an Intel Xeon E3 1231V3 CPU, as well as an older Intel SSD 320 Series 160GB drive.
No problems what so ever.

Question 3

New builder here. What are the power requirements for this motherboard?

By power requirements you meant power supply capacity? This depends on the use or configuration that you want to give. For the basic operation of the motherboard I buy this power supply and have had no problems

Is there a connection for a Graphics card on this motherboard?

Yes u see where it says pcie x16? That's is for graphics. 95% of motherboards have them standard. That rare 5% are usually server boards that have integrated graphics. This us a great board also.

Question 5

Is this board compatible with Windows 10?

Accepted Answer

The only way to know is to run the Windows 10 compatibility check.  That application is not available yet.  I don't doubt, however, that it will be.  I have a laptop and two desktops with older hardware that are currently showing as perfectly capable of running Windows 10.  This board can handle 8, and as such, should handle 10.

Question 6

I'm using this motherboard for my first computer build, but I'm having trouble seeing where to connect the CD Drive. Can anyone help?

This is set up for SATA drives. Usually Your Primary (C) drive goes to 0, and a secondary to 1. Then you can plug in your CD drive to any of the other SATA connections.

Question 7

It looks like this board has 24 and 8 pin power ports. Does this require a PSU with 24 and 8 pin as opposed to one with 24 and 4 pin? If the 4 pin PSU worked, would there be any performance issues or downsides to using a 24 and 4 port PSU?

I am using the system with the 24 and 4 port PSU and for my application it has worked fine, but I only use the system for basic internet and Microsoft Office products.

Specs say tha for onboard video, the CPU must have integrated graphics. Mine does (Intel Core i5-4430). If I add an expansion graphics card, can I simultaneously run monitors from both the onboard and the expansion?

There is no reason why you can not. In the bios you can tell the board whether to initialize onboard graphics or expansion graphics first, but even if you don't, the board will utilize the first responding graphics channel for the bios video output. Both Windows and Linux support multiple graphics cards (as long as you have drivers.)

Question 10

Can this board be used to overclock? The processor would be the Anniversary Pentium, which is overclockable. Does the motherboard even play a part in determining overclocking ability for a PC?
