In the specs it says:
"1 x M.2 Socket 3 connector on the back of the motherboard"

I don't see it in the pictures, is it the same port used by the wifi module?

If you look at the photo of the motherboard underside you'll see the M.2 socket 3 connector to the right of the CPU bracket.

I this motherboard compatible with a i5  6400 and i5 6500?

Yes - it uses the same socket (LGA 1151) as those two CPUs.

Can you overclock a k i7 with this board?

No. H170 chipset cannot be overclocked. Buy a board with a "Z170" chipset instead.

Question 4

Hey, everybody! I'm a little confused about the onboard graphics. With a decent amount of memory installed, would the native graphics be enough to play more complex games like DOOM or Fallout 4, or does it just mean the board is capable of supporting a graphics card that can? Looking at this board for a Steam Machine build. Thanks!

Motherboards don't have graphics built in to them they can only provide the connections (IO) for graphics. You need a processor that has integrated graphics to use the motherboard's display IO. That said, integrated graphics (like the type that come on some CPUs) would not be sufficient for DOOM or Fallout 4, you'll want a discrete graphics card for that like a GTX 1060.

Does anyone know which Intel wireless module they're using in this board? Planning on building a DIY router with this and need to check for linux driver compatibility.

Just checked mine and it looks like it's an Intel AC 8260.  Tried to include a link to Intel's ARK page, but Newegg wouldn't allow me.  A quick Google ought to get you there.

Question 6

Is the M.2 port on the back of the motherboard a type B or type M? I want to get an M.2 SSD to use with this port. Will doing so use the drive at the full x4 PCI lanes? I will have a x16 graphics card plugged in simultaneously.

it seems like it will work as either. I do strongly recommend you choose one off the compatibility sheet for it. Don't forget two of the sata ports will be disabled if using the m.2 slot. I think its the first two.

Question 7

Can I boot into windows using a M.2 SSD? Or does M.2 become detectable only after the OS has loaded? I ask because other motherboards with M.2 ports seem to have this issue.

I have the Samsung 950 Pro as my boot for Windows 8.1 Pro.   I used a bootable USB drive and insuring that CSM was disabled in MB bios to install on to the drive (creating a GPT partition).  I also removed my video card to avoid triggering CSM.

Does this motherboard throttle a 6700K when under load like it was reported with the z170n-wifi?

I shouldn't throttle as long as the cpu is not getting too hot. Never heard of a board throttling a cpu unless it was too hot.
