anyone using this with i7 6700k?

Yeah. I must say though, when I first used my computer, I noticed it was really slow, apparently there's something in the bios, an Intel temperature thing. After I turned that off my computer is running insanely fast. And the temperatures are great. I have it overclocked to 4.3 ghz with the Hyper212 Evo.

How well does Windows 7 run with this board?

windows 7 does not completely support skylake. And is no longer updated to support 6000 series intel.. FYI be ready for 10

The CPU area appears congested, is there room for a Liquid CPU Cooler such as the Corsair hydro Series?

I'm using this motherboard with the Hydro h110, and it works just fine. Gotta contort the tubes a little, but nothing major. Fits fine!

Now that I've ordered this motherboard I find out it is crossfire only does this mean I can't use one NVIDIA card with this board?

I'm using a GTX 970 on my board now. The board does not do SLI so you will be limited to one nvidia card at a time. Also update the BIOS. Mine had an instiblity that was fixed with an update. Now it runs great.

Is it M.2 ssd compatible ?

It's is m.2 compatible for an ssd and an additional m.2 for a wifi add on card. I have a samsung 951 on my board. See the msi website under support for full list of m.2 supported.

Will DDR3000 play nice with this board on first boot?

This board is very particular with ram. I had trouble having it post originally because the memory was not compatible. Consult the chart on the the tomahawk page on the msi website. After you get it to post the first time and update the bios all ram should work

Does this come standard with built in wifi?

Yep. WiFi and Bluetooth together on a separate card that you will need to install when puutting together the moterboard. very simple

Does it support NVME? I'm looking to boot from a Samsung 950 pro.

I've been using that Samsung with the same motherboard for a few months now and it works great!

Why is this motherboard so hard to find? I figured with how quick they are bought that MSI would be producing more, but I can't seem to find it anywhere (in the US).

I think MSI has moved onto other designs and newer chip sets to support the next generation of processors.
