I was wondering if this board has a connector for the USB 3.0 ports on the front of the computer case, or is that only available on the PRO model?

The board does not have a mid board connector for USB 3.0, it does have USB 3.0 at the rear panel. The mid board connector is what is used to run a wire to the case. The board is really good, if you need 3.0 at the front of the case then you can either find another board, or get an outboard USB hub connect to the rear panel 3.0 USB and extend the hub to wherever you need it.

does this motherboard work with a corsair TX650 power supply?

I have this board connected to a Corsair HX650 and it is working well. There were no issues at all. The TX is the next level up in their line as I understand it. Your power requirements may vary from mine. I have the Antec 302 case, NVidia K2000 Video card, single 1TB WD HDD, 16GB GSkill GBXL Ram, and intel i7-4820K CPU. The cables were just barely long enough for my setup, had to take care in routing the 24 pin power cable as it just made it lengthwise, so did the 8 pin cable. I had to flash the BIOS to get it to recognize the newer CPU which had just come out when I put it together. Flashing it with a USB according to ASUS method was easy, only needed to power it up, no cpu, video or anything.

You state this is a newer version, versus the P9X79 Pro. Why do you say that?

I was wondering the same thing as Pamela. This board links from ASUS P9X79 Pro motherboard as being a newer version only this one isn't Pro and the other one is Pro. So I'm a bit confused. Is this an updated version of ASUS P9X79 Pro motherboard if so why wouldn't it still be "Pro", or is this a newer version of the standard ASUS P9x79?

I'm just checking, before i blow the money on it.... I have an HX750W PSU, and im PLANNING to get the 3930K... these will be compatible right? I read in a review the 3930K (six core) was compatible ONLY with the P9X79 express boards, The express is what has me confused. This should all work and be compatible right? Fitting in a full size NZXT Phantom 530 case with a H100i. I've done some checking and it looks like it will, just looking for other expert opinions or any first hand experience.

Yes from what I just checked these should all work together.

If you check the asus page it shows this processor as supported.  I tried to put the link here but it wouldn't let me.

Question 5

How many expansion slots on my case do i need to use the bottom PCI-E slot ?

I believe its 7 slots. I have a thermaltake overseer (rx-I) and it fits this board perfectly. 
my case has 8 slots btw. I got th bigger case for space and cable management.

Question 6

The specification about this motherboard says that it is "Quad-GPU SLI and Quad-GPU CrossFireX Support!" but I see only 3 PCI Express connectors. So, my question is fairly simple, how many video cards will this motherboard support? Please help, I want to buy it very soon. Thank you

I can only fit 2 gtx 660s in mine.

Question 7

The manual states that once switched to RAID all SATA ports will be switched to RAID. My plan is to use RAID 1 with two 2TB drives for storage and have 120GB SSD for OS which would not be part of RAID. Not sure if I can do it with this board. Could I configure a second RAID 1 volume just with one drive?

forget raid, use the SSD for OS and use the mechanical HD's for Data (pic, videos, music etc.

hey,

I was in the exact same position as you a month ago :). Pro, Deluxe or non has nothing to do with the features. You get the same in all of them, the difference is the configuration and the extras and by that I mean , the deluxe I think has wifi as an extra, or more or less pci slots. So it depends on what you are looking to have your system support in the future. I got the non pro since the configuration was ok for me and I prefer to choose my own wifi adapter, also I will go up to a maximum of 2 Graphic cards. I'm not sure if it is the new one, but I have 4930k and G.skill memory and so far it has been great. The only drawback was that I had to update the bios before I get support for my CPU but that was very easy and quick.
