Pros: I wanted to build a home server, low power, quite, that supported multiple hard drives. My build included this component and fit the bill perfectly. I have now a very quiet server, using very low power, with more than 5TB mirrored drives (raw is >10TB). Strongly recommended. My build: - BitFenix Phenom BFC-PHE-300-KKXKK-RP Mini-ITX computer case - Rosewill Green series 530W 80 PLUS Bronze power - ASUS H87I-PLUS Mini ITX motherboard - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL - Intel Core i3-4130T 35W (super low power) - Crucial M500 120GB Sata 2.5" SSD - 5 Hard Drives, all Western Digital Green, from 1TB to 4TB - Windows 8.1 Everything is low power, I use the integrated graphics of the CPU, and the SSD keeps the build quite fast. With Windows I created a single 'storage space' that takes all the 5 hard drives and makes it look like a single multi terabyte hard drive, and I selected to have everything mirrorored. No fuss with RAID, it is all in Wnidows. I don't use a monitor or keyboard (only used it to set it up), as I connect remotely via remote desktop. I chose these components to make sure they were all compatible - it has been running 24/7 for the past 4 weeks with no problem, no heat, no noise. I serve my music to my Sonos components, backup all my work, share all my pictures, and could even remotely access it (I have not set that up yet).
Cons: No cons.
Overall Review: I had to flash the new BIOS, no problem. I had to reseat the memory and ended up buying a motherboard speaker to hear the beeps and help me diagnose the memory seated incorrectly. Running like a champ.
